yep, they told me today the opposite of what they told me yesterday. the guy said don't expect it to be up anytime soon. he said he expects the date will either be changed again or taken off their completely.

can't wait any longer. will have to make the best of what empire and amazon are offering to unload.

The same code, 5OFF50NOW (gives $5 off a $50+ purchase) has been in effect now continously for like the last 4 months now, maybe longer. I get an email just about every week with this same code. So I seriously doubt they will be returning to the old style monthly codes.

I thought you can only use the same code only once. They have been using the old style monthly code but not advertising it.

Just a little note, I used the FEB05 code a few days ago, and my total was $56 or so, and even though it gave me the little error message saying that the code is only for orders $60+, it still took the $5 off for me.

Does anyone think they will ever take back dvds again? I'm just not sure how they can compete when they rarely have prices that aren't higher than the competition. Who orders from them if they don't have remaining credit?

I just picked up Hogan's Heroes the Kommandant Collection (complete series) from them for $70 using the $5 off coupon.... (well, technically I used $70 worth of store credit).... but surprisingly they were cheaper than DD and Amazon on this particular title.

I just went to my DVD Planet wishlist to remove a few items I ordered from DD and I noted price reductions since yesterday on many titles. (but not all, e.g., not on Criterion items). They now have a Summer Sale banner on their homepage - sale ends June 20.


DVD Planet has reduced prices on a lot of items - the prices are now very close to, but not less than, what I just paid at Deep Discount.

With the DVD Planet Summer Sale, sometimes the reduced prices don't show up in the search results listing screen but they do show up when you actually go to the item's page itself.... just an FYI.

prices are like $1-$5 more expensive than Deepdiscount with this 25% off deal... but i'd rather go with dvdplanet if they have any coupon codes coming up
