Aggghhhh! Why did I throw away the boxes for the Best of Compilations? Damn.

Is the Planet Earth they offer the Attenborough version or the Weaver version?

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Will these upgrades include blu cases and cover art for the new discs? I couldn't find this info on the website. And for those of us with the Complete Matrix, could we just send in the cover art for the first Matrix and get the new bluray for number 1 only? I could live with just having the first on blu and the rest in HD anyways.

I did, but it went into my spam folder...

I called their customer service. They are only accepting the paper slip for the Ultimate Matrix Collection, not the box.

just to confirm...to upgrade the Ocean's set, you only need to send in the slipcover that was on the box set right? Not the cover art for the individual HD-DVDs inside the set?

Considering I just pulled the Ocean's box out of a cabinet b/c display them out of the box, I'll def. upgrade if that is the case.

Attenborough, the case for the Weaver version is completely different and features a giant Discovery HD stamp on it.

According to the customer service guy who put me on hold to speak with his supervisor, for the Ocean's set you need to send in the slip and the covers of all 3 movies...

Bah...I don't want to give up my cover art. I was just gonna get the Ocean's Blu set to trade. Oh well.

Thanks for the info.

Just scan and print. Even with my crappy HP model it didn't turn out that bad.

Cost me about $140 w/ tax and shipping for 23 titles - I even upgraded some of the titles I already gotten on Blu Ray as well, will probably sell them.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Not interested. I'd rather keep my HD DVDs in tact, and $5 (and up) per disc plus another $7/shipping is too expensive. If I ever need to repurchase any of my WB HD titles sometime down the road, I'm sure it'll be just as cheap for a previously viewed copy. Meanwhile, if I get too concerned that my HD DVD/BD Combo drive will fail, it's totally conceivable that I could back them all up to a networked harddrive or two. Or start using my A1 again. Or buy another player. Or another combo drive. Or an Xbox add-on.

Same here. I sent them an email. I'll let you know what they say.

Yeah, when I called they didn't have an explanation as to why. They were stumped. They said something along the lines that when they send it (I guess you're charged then?), the tax will not be charged. Don't know. In any case, if it is, I think if you call them they will credit that back...

Any idea how long this will be going on? I have approx 15 titles I would possibly do.

I saw that someone mentioned they wouldn't trade their 300 in for the BD version? Any reason why? What others listed there are considered downgrades (be it due to PQ, sound, or extras)?

My copy of The Fountain recently won't be read by my HD player (but the dvd will...strange) so that would be a good candidate. I'm gonna have to think about this and for each title. Clockwork Orange would be nice to have on one disc.

I have all the Superman titles but I expect that they will release one big BD boxset for these eventually and that may be worth the wait.

Cool idea, but unfortunately I already have most on Blu-ray.

300 has more features on HD-DVD.

And you're not trading it in. You're only trading in the cover art. I know how anal a lot of people are about their cover art so it could be perceived like you're trading the whole thing in... but you're not.

Thanks. Just upgraded the 4 WB HD DVDs I own.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Anyone think I could get a decent deal on eBay for my Harry Potter and Kubrick discs (without cover art) with a HD-A2? I'm thinking upgrading some of my favorites that are equal/better on Blu-ray (especially for series) and then selling a lot like this since I just got a HD-A30 on the way to me. Less need for the HD-A2 then. Hmm...

I want the Harry Potter films to all match on Blu-ray especially. Lame, sorta, but true. Not sure what to do.

Exactly. Just put the HD DVD in a CD envelope & stick it inside the BD cover.

Thanks.

So who thinks it's worth buying a brand new Ultimate Matrix HD-DVD for $20-$30, upgrade it to blu-ray and then sell back off the HD-DVD for about $20?

Actually, better yet, stick it <a href="http://runtechmedia.com/store-detail.asp?categoryID=200901021350191&subcategoryID=1&subcategory=&txtPicName=product-na.gif&a=15">in a 2-disc BD case</a>.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

It would run me $120 to replace all my titles & get the 2-disc cases. Not a steal, but pretty fair considering it's for 20+ discs.
