Last Movie You Watched Thread

So, I was thinking it might be worthwhile to have a thread similar to those in DVD and HD Talk.

It's pretty simple - watch a movie, then post here with SOMETHING about your thoughts on the film. I don't care what, but don't just drop in and post a title. Thoughts are key.

I figured this might be a good way to see who watches what, maybe find out about some hidden gems along the way. Get a little discussion going. It's not like we have a thread for every film that may or may not get bumped, and the structure of the Rank 'Em as You See 'Em thread isn't as appealing to me.

So hopefully this lasts. That, or it'll be off page 1 by 3pm.

Split Second - Ridiculously awesome '90s action, with Rutger Hauer chasing down the killer who murdered his partner (don't they all?). But this killer is Venom's 10 ft. tall brother with dreadlocks. Also: Kim Cattrall's boobs.

Pitch Perfect - entertainment practically on the level of Bring It On (over time, might eventually surpass it). Also - Anna Kendrick

Ted can't believe it made so much I thought it was uneven.

Butter - Great cast and very funny (in parts)

The Dark Knight Rises - A very solid movie, though as a follow up to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight it kind of failed to deliver.

The Grey - watching it on BD now and listening to the commentary.

The Hobbit -- an enjoyable if slight prequel, and the HFR/3D presentation was outstanding.

The Hobbit. Really enjoyed it. I liked Bilbo's character and the eagles rescue scene was well done. I think HFR has some real potential.

Finding Nemo - Even funnier than I remembered, and showed incredible depth in Blu-ray 3D.

For A Few Dollars More- I'm winding down with the Dollars trilogy after having watched every other known spaghetti western available on Netflix, Amazon Instant Watch, and Blu-ray in anticipation of Django Unchained. I have pretty much enjoyed them all, but Leone's movies are the only ones that seem to get it all right.

The Hobbit in HFR 3D (second viewing, but first in HFR). Loved the movie, loved the HFR.

Fist of the North Star (1986)
Probably would've liked it more if some of those guys weren't 35-feet tall.

Snow on tha Bluff- interesting found footage gangster/street thug flick. Very convincing through most of the movie. Netflix.

One of the highest framerate movies followed by one of the lowest, nice

I thought it was funny. It was good to see a modern comedy that seemed to be more aimed at my age group (late 30s) rather than teenagers. And I totally got into the FLASH GORDON tribute, it's one of m favourite movies.

Balboa. I think it's a very good movie and a perfect way for the Rocky Balboa character to ride off into the sunset.

Trail Street - nice melodramatic 40s western with Randolph Scott and Robert Ryan. Lovely supporting role for Gabby Hayes

Mortuary (1983) - I've wanted to see this one for a while. I hoped for the best, what I got was pretty close to the worst. At least it had Bill Paxton, but it's a major snoozer otherwise.

Rush Hour 3...because my son picked it.

Not the worst movie I've ever seen, but goddamn is Chris Tucker grating.

I'm shocked to see that movie mentioned here. I'd like to suggest Gang Tapes if you haven't seen it already. Same idea for the most part, but the execution is much better.

Amelie- just about a perfect confection of a movie with maybe the most adorable lead in a movie I have seen. I truly love this movie.

Loved the use of Silent Night when the ugly pervert was taking pictures.
