Re: My 64" Pioneer RPTV died today. What now?

My Pioneer 64" RPTV died last year and I replaced it with a Mitsubish 73". Couldn't be happier. Yes it's rear projection, but the picture is fine and it only cost $1500 (you can get'em for less...

Re: Redbox and Blockbuster Express Codes Thread

I've picked up a couple of BDs at a local Redbox. It only charged me a buck apiece.

Re: Wall mounting Panasonic TH42PX80U - if only it were that simple

Those are round head screws holding the mount to the set. Use a rotary tool such as a Dremel with a cutting disc to cut the heads off the two offending screws. You'll be able to remove the stand...

Re: New TV - 3D TV - Is it worth it?

I've always moved up. 17"->26"->31"->54"->65". My next will probably be a 72". In your case, viewing distance is key. Get a little closer to a smaller set and the apparent image will stay the...

If you buy a 3D HDTV today, it will require glasses, and you'll pretty much wear it out before true autostereoscopic sets come out. That'll be quite a few years down the road. The technology being...

Re: Redbox and Blockbuster Express Codes Thread

Just rented Blind Side - Blu, and Shutter Island. Looking for a code on Monday. By the way, Blind Side - Blu was a buck, not the $1.50 or $2.00 I thought they were going to be.

Re: New TV - 3D TV - Is it worth it?

I'm not going to get into all the particulars, but I've thoroughly researched 3D tvs and am continuing to do so. My next HDTV must be 3D capable, and I expect to purchase it late this year or early...

Re: More 3D News (including First Look: Panasonic's 3D Blu-ray Player and 3D HDTV )

It's not to the standard then. The whole point was to allow the consumer to buy 3D discs before acquiring the equipment necessary to display a 3D image and be able to show them on a regular BD...

Re: More 3D News (including First Look: Panasonic's 3D Blu-ray Player and 3D HDTV )

All 3D discs will output a 2D image in a standard 2D BD player. A separate disc won't be necessary, unless it were to be a DVD.

Re: Denon 3310 for $649 today (6/8/10) at amazon

Good unit for a good price. It's only real limitation is that it's an HDMI 1.3 spec'd unit and not suitable for 3D, which requires an HDMI 1.4 spec unit; unless you're using the Panasonic 3D...

Re: Help! my HDTV has a blue circle in the middle of screen?

Re: Help! my HDTV has a blue circle in the middle of screen?

This is a known defect in the Sony RPTVs. It happened to my neighbor's set and he was able to get a new light engine installed under warrenty. That is the fix, by the way. That was a couple of years...

Re: Standard DVD's in a Blu Ray Player.

It won't make them sound better, but your DVD collection should look somewhat better when upconverted if your current HDTV has an HDMI connection. If your TV doesn't have an HDMI input, then a...
