Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Yesterday I checked Target online and it showed "out of stock" for MI. So I went to Best Buy with my coupons. They pricematched their website with the $10 off MI/Up offer:

MI: $15.99
Up: $ 4.99
Tax: $ 2.98
Total: $23.96

Today, I was in Target (for some groceries/etc.) and I checked out the BRs. They still didn't have any MI, but they had Up with that cool journal (and some without). I noticed that the UPC was the same on both the journal version and the one without. So I got to thinking that maybe I would just buy the journal copy and use the second $10 Up manufacturer coupon that I had and then return the copy without the journal to Best Buy. While handing the coupons to the cashier, I asked if she could use the Target $10 off coupon and give me $5 off since they didn't have MI. She scanned it and it took $10 off and then she scanned the manuf. coupon and it took another $10 off, so they paid me a penny for it! LOL

Best Buy gave me a refund of $16.13 ($14.99 + $1.14 tax) back on my Up. So, my final totals are:

MI: $7.83
Up: $ .01-

Total: $7.82

Very happy with that total. Not as great as 98 cents, but it's fine with me!

How does someone's personal Borders Bucks benefit me? The $5 gift card that comes with it must be used on a future purchase.

The $5 in Borders Bucks were just sent out via email....the $5 gift card doesn't even come into play for this purchase. Are you a Borders Rewards member? If so, check your email for the Borders Bucks. If not....sorry.

I just reread my e-mail and for the life of me, I don't see anywhere in the e-mail mentioning Borders Bucks. It just states that you get a $5 Gift Card with the purchase(not valid on previous purchases). Oh well, it doesn't really matter to me because of my killer deal at Target on Tuesday.

It's not in that email....they sent out another one today. Maybe it was only for a select few? I gave my brother the 30% off coupon, my $5 Borders Bucks, and my Borders Rewards card since he was going to get a book tomorrow.

Those tricky Amazon bastards ... I had 2 separate orders, (1) for UP, MI and another Disney using the promotion and (2) for Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut.

I received one package in the mail that sounded like it had multiple items in it, so I assumed it was the order with the Disney movies.

I checked Amazon's site for tracking information and noticed that both orders were delivered on the same day, but I had only received 1 package. I started freaking out, thinking that one of the packages was missing.

I checked the tracking numbers for the Disney order and the Watchmen order ... same tracking number. They packaged them together, so if I want to return, it is on my dime.

Side note, I did end up getting Amazon.com account credit (not a refund though) of $5 for the new $15 UPBLURAY promotion.

That is true, but in this case the $5 Borders Bucks and $5 gift card makes for a good deal. It would be an even better deal if they were charging $19.99 for the Blu-ray set like everyone else is.

The email title was "Bonus Borders Bucks for You: $5 to Spend as You Wish!". Apparently not everyone got it.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Took me awhile, but finally got in on the Target max deal. While each Target store I tried had dozens of copies of Up, had trouble finding Monsters, Inc. anywhere. Finally found a Target with Monsters, Inc., and it didn't have Up, probably the one Target in the world with that situation.

So I had to buy it there, then go to another Target and return it, explaining that I needed it back right away. Rebought it with Up, used all 4 coupons, pricematched at customer service to Best Buy's $18.99.

Grand result = Up and Monsters, Inc. for free (except for a lot of gas)

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Had to work for this one, but worth it, thanks to this thread. My Targets were out of stock on both BD's earlier in the week. Knowing they usually re-stock late in the week, I returned Friday. They had 2 copies of MI in (one with coupon, one without). I took the coupon and hid one of the MI, expecting Up would be back in later that night or this morning. Went in this morning, they had 4 Up w/book, no MI. Grabbed my hidden MI, used the four coupons and walked out paying $8.98 for both. Whew!

At Amazon, Cars has dropped $2 if your Monsters, Up and Cars order still hasn't shipped . . . like mine hasn't.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I went to Borders today. It took a few tries but they finally got it rung up properly with the rewards bucks, manufacrurer's coupon, and $5 gift card. $11 out the door with a $5 gift card. Not as good a deal as some have gotten at Target but I wasn't near one and didn't need MI.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

My friend and I hit 6 Targets in the area today, and none of them had Monsters Inc.

So we went to Best Buy instead. We got Up, Monsters Inc., and the Up Steelbook, as they still had two in the store. After price matching Up to their website and using the $10 Up and $8 Monster's Inc. coupon, we got the two sets and steelbook for $23.30. Not the best deal, but still a good one, and I got the steelbook.

1. PM BB and use a $10 manufacture coupon OR
2. buy at regular price and use 3 coupons for a total of $30 off

They really did not get it right. I think they meant you couldn't use the $10 combon Target coupon if you PM'd. And the total for the coupons is 28, not 30. The $10 combo coupon on some of the earlier MI's also scanned as a "duplicate" manufacturer's coupon and was not allowed if you had either the MI or UP coupons. So $18 is better than $10. (Though Target employees can accept the coupon anyway if they want)

I think because the email was confusing (using the term manufacturer's coupon both times and missing the total), the CSR manager did what thejester's did -- both PM's and coupons, which I don't think the emails was allowing. However, I know they did this for me too

The way flix1 got it was probably the way it is supposed to be from corporate. (Also as far as the Amazon pkg -- if you don't want it just refuse shipment -- You will get a full refund if you had super saver shipping)

One more reason it pays to go early in these deals before corporate starts to disallow stuff
I used the 3 $10 coupons and was turned away on the $8 coupon.
So I got $30 off and paid $16.xx

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

OK guys, don't hate me for asking this, but for someone like me who hasn't read the three hundred pages worth of replies on this thread, what's the most current cheapest price for Up and Monster's Inc? I saw some people write about $10 and $8 coupons? Where can I find these?

Considering this is the start of a new sales week, Amazon would probably be your best bet to get both. I think one of the coupons expired yesterday. Amazon still has the $15/$26 promo going.

Buy Up/MI get $15 off..... 41.49(19.99/21.49) - 15 = 26.50
Buy Up/MI/Cars(blu only) get $26 off...... 58.97(19.99/21.49/17.49) - 26 = 32.97

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

I finally returned my BB copies, and for some reason they gave me $5.35 extra in credit compared to what I paid. So, $14.98 - $5.35 = $9.63 and my deal of the decade .

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

This was one frustrating deal but in the end I am very happy!
For some reason, I waited until around 6pm last night (last day of the weekly ads), to check this out fully and venture to target. Guess what they didn't have. Had a ton of Up but no Monsters. So, I thought, I'll go to BB and use the online price+$10 coupon+$8 coupon.
Person helping me was super nice, but for some reason ended up not being able to match online price and use coupon on Up (I think the coupons wouldn't scan and she had to manually type in the amount, which I guess doesn't work well with manually typing in the online price). Total at BB after tax: $28.53, or $14.26 per movie... not really great.
Came home to check out what I could do with Amazon. Did the Up+Monsters+Cars deal, total was $33.47, or $11.15. Getting better, but maybe I can do more...
Emailed Amazon about the snowhitethanks coupon that I had seen people talk about but couldn't really find specifics on. Used the form letter from the OP, also adding the order number of when I had bought Snow White (a pre-order too, on Oct 5 heh). Got this response:
Your order didn't meet all of the qualifications for receiving this promotional offer. However, I've made an exception and adjusted your order in the amount of $10.00.
Not sure if I was supposed to have only bought up and monsters, or maybe snow white with them, or maybe not used the $26 promo code on the 3 I bought; at any rate, I got the discount (they just took $10 off cars), making my total $23.47 or $7.82/movie! For three great Disney Pixar movies, two of which were just released, this is amazing. I don't know that I'll mess around withy B&M anymore at all after this. I've become so loyal to Amazon, they really did things right (at least for me).

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

UP is still $19.99 at Target.
Monsters Inc (as its a new week) is now $34.99 at Target.
The $10 off (if you buy UP and Monsters Inc together) Target coupon expires on Nov 25.
The $10 off UP coupon expires on Nov 17.
The $8 off Monsters Inc coupon expires on Nov 30.
Not sure when the $10 off (if you buy UP and Monsters Inc together) coupon that is found on Monsters Inc expires.

Re: Up and Monsters, Inc. deals (Part 2)

Well after a trip to Wal-Mart and Best Buy (thankfully they are in the same parking lot), I ended up with Monsters Inc + UP + UP steelbook for $17.xx using gift cards. Not as good of a deal as some but I’m pretty sure I can live with that.
