Interesting.. I was pretty sure I was going with target but now I'm not so sure cause if I buy them both for 16.99 and my $10 pre- order comes off and I can use the 2 $5 coupons then that would be $13.98 + tax

You could be creative and pre-order TS1&2 which gives you $15 off an existing Disney Title. And buy Princess & the Frog for $11.99 (26.99-15), then use the P&F Manufacturer Coupon for -$10 making that $1.99. Then when TS1&2 come out get them for $16.99 each - $5 coupon. So you would in essence get all 3 for $25.97. That is if they give you the $16.99 price after giving the $15 off of existing title.

Good luck with getting the $15 off (this is technically expired in the computers but not listed on the form) - my store wouldn't budge since it didn't scan.

Also, will be interesting to see if they really take the coupons with the pre-orders already "bought".

Why not? You haven't actually "bought" them yet...you still have to pay the balances, which would be $11.99 for each one after taking off the $5 for each pre-order deposit amount, and from a retail point of view, a manufacturers coupon is essentially a form of payment (not a "discount" as the consumer traditionally views it)....the only time a retailer would have a problem with a manufacturers coupon would be if the coupon was for more than price of the item....since all indications are that the coupons will be for $5, and you will be needing to pay more than that for the balances, it should be accepted without hesitation....

I actually did this on this past Tuesday!
Now, they screwed mine up the other day, but if they had done it correctly, it would have been like this:

+$5.00: Toy Story pre-order deposit
+$5.00: Toy Story 2 pre-order deposit
+$26.99: Princess & Frog BD combo pack
-$15.00: discount for pre-ordering both TS titles
-$10.00: Princess & Frog printable coupon
________
$11.99 (plus sales tax): final paid this week

Next Tuesday, 3/23:
+16.99: Toy Story (lowered price for buying both)
+16.99: Toy Story 2 (lowered price for buying both)
-$5.00: TS pre-order deposit already paid last week
-$5.00: TS2 pre-order deposit already paid last week
-$5.00: TS printable coupon
-$5.00: TS2 printable coupon
________
$13.98 (plus sales tax): final amount paid next week

HOWEVER, the cashier mistakenly applied the $10 off PATF coupon twice on my receipt, so I only paid $1.99 this week....so I think I'll be happy to end up with all three BDs for only $15.97 (plus tax) when it is all said and done...
Too bad, I was actually looking forward to not having to go back to that awful TRU store....I was almost hoping the TRU prices would be worse than the ones at Best Buy, and just grabbing the TS BDs at Target....

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

Any idea if they will price match to Target on the Toy Story packs?

If not will I be able to cancel the preorder (and keep the $15 off I got on PATF?)

My TRU is a pain and I only shop there when they have great deals so I don't know much about their official policies.

Pricematch what? Target is $19.99 each while TRU is $16.99 each. In fact, since it's $21.99 each at TRU separately it looks like they are automatically showing us the $10 discount with a combo purchase promotion.

Target is $19.99 each or $14.99 each when bought together. TRU is $21.99 each or $16.99 each when bought together. In other words Target is $2 cheaper each or $4 combined.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

Too bad my TRU stores are so far away. I have to figure with my low mileage car it costs me $5 in gas just to drive there and back... and 2 or 3 times to preorder and pick up pretty much would cancel out the savings over Target.

And there is yet another rumor (and apparently confirmed by others on the same Slickdeals Toy Story thread) that Target has in fact raised prices on each Toy Story BD to $22.99. Not as bad as $26.99, but still $3 more on each. People are saying the $19.99 ad people saw was a pre-ad and the one that went to the printer was changed to $22.99.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

I just want confirmation that Toys "R" Us is going to 1) advertise their "Buy Both, Save $10" promotion on Toy Story and 2) not have any kind of language suggesting they have an exclusive. I don't feel like going to Target and either leaving empty-handed because all seven copies they stock are gone when I get there or that they've trashed the slipcovers.

I'm planning on price-matching at Walmart (which will also save me some hassle, since they're literally three minutes away from me vs. a 15 minute drive to Target or 20 minutes to Toys "R" Us). I know Walmart will point to Target's "DVD Game" as evidence that they're selling a different product and not have to pricematch. Toys "R" Us offering the $10 off for the pair, however, should alleviate any such hassle.

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

Another confirmation this deal is on and is a HOT one!
I was in and out in less than five minutes and they definitely are still honoring the $15 off when pre-ordering both Toy Story movies; they had tons of pre-order cards in the blu-ray section advertising it.

Mine appears to have been a little screwy as well as I pre-order both TS movies and bought PATF and only paid $8 even (including the tax) out of pocket today.
So next week when I pick them up, I will be out another $13.98 (plus sales tax) for a total spent of around $23 after tax.
Oh and the best part is I sold my Ultimate Toy Box set last week on EBAY and cleared $27 after shipping and ebay/paypal fees.
So I make $4 back on the whole transaction!

Not bad for Toy Story 1, Toy Story 2, PATF blu-rays, dvds, and digital copies on all and two tickets to Toy Story 3!

Thanks again DVD (blu-ray) Talk and WMAangel!
This site has been saving me lots of money on all things disc since '97

This looks great, but how will the 2 $8.00 Disney upgrade coupons factor into this?
Will they give you cash back on the transaction or will it just cancel out any sales tax?

also I forgot the extra $5 PatF coupon, http://forum.dvdtalk.com/blu-ray-bar...ack-5-off.html.
So that should be another $5 off right.

Yeah, good luck using 2 coupons on multiple DVD's! I suppose you might get a dumb cashier to do it on one, but double-dipping on two at the same time is a HUGE YMMV. HOWEVER, read the other thread about how to get $10 coupons for TS 1/2. So forget about the puny $5 coupon and $8 coupons, there's a $10 coupon which will be live SOON!!! And all you need to do is enter a UPC number on the DMR site... W00T!!!

Wrong. Something about counting chickens before they've hatched...

TRU is now the best deal out there.

New thread reveals new coupons:

Whether or not stacking will be allowed remains to be seen.

Looks like the $10 off coupon is for either title. Doesn't seem like it can be used on both (even with 2 printed ones).

Ya know, that was my first impression as well, but others quickly rebutted my position in the other thread:

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

Does anyone know how TRU's return policy compares to Target or Best Buy when returning an item (P&F) that used coupons and promotions? Not trying to cheat the system and get a full refund on the promotion, but rather hoping to exchange P&F for a Disney title I actually want.... like Cars. As of now, I got P&F for $15 off (TRU)+ $10 off (printable coupon). Thanks!

Re: Toys R Us BD (and DVD) prices 3/21-3/27

This deal just got hotter for me. I just pre-ordered TS 1/2 at my TRU, while buying PATF. There seems to be an un-announced $5 Disney Promo (according to the receipt) which took an ADDITIONAL $5 off. This is my receipt:

+$5.00: Toy Story pre-order deposit
+$5.00: Toy Story 2 pre-order deposit
+$26.99: Princess & Frog BD combo pack (with $8 sale discount)
-$15.00: discount for pre-ordering both TS titles
-$5.00: DISNEY PROMO
-$10.00: Princess & Frog printable coupon
-$5.00: other Princess & Frog printable coupon
________
$1.99 (plus sales tax): final paid this week

PATF rang up $6.99 automatically before ANY coupons were scanned. It shows $6.99 on my receipt, and the two coupons are taken off down on the bottom.

The coupons are taken off on the bottom of the receipt, so you probably could take it back and keep the coupon savings. But the $15 discount is taken off of the product price, so you'd likely lose that when doing your exchange. They probably have to return the entire pre-order and start fresh with a new pre-order in order for you to get $15 off of a different title...
