I did in store pick up and my Scott Pilgrim was also missing a slipcover. Normally I'm not too worried about a slipcover but the Scott Pilgrim one is very cool so I asked and the let me grab one with the cover.

I saw scott pilgrim in the theater and loved it. I haven't met one person on the internet or personally who did not like that movie.

Since so many people having been raving about Scott Pilgrim, I finally read some reviews and then watched some YouTube videos (mostly of the 7 "evil ex" fight scenes). Those clips made it look incredibly stupid, so at $13.99 I'll pass. Someday I'll rent it or blind buy it if it gets a LOT cheaper (like $5 on BF at Walmart). I'd probably somewhat enjoy it, but I have a feeling it's more along the lines of Superbad (which had a few good moments but I didn't like very much) than Easy A (which I thought was above average and much better). There was such rabid support for Scott Pilgrim on reviews sites (and the few negative reviews were attacked or given negative ratings) that I'm a bit suspicious of all the love for it as some sort of marketing campaign by the producers/studio to pump up video sales so they can break even on it (as the numbers I saw on IMDB showed it didn't make back its budget at the box office).
Again, I've never seen it and I'm only going on clips I saw and what I've read.

Scott Pilgrim is so meticulously constructed that pretty much any scene from it, viewed out of context from the whole movie, will seem "stupid". Watch it as a whole, the way it was meant to be seen.

Mmm, I don't know if I agree. I thought the trailers did a pretty good job of showing exactly what the movie was going to be like, style-wise. That said, I still definitely think it's a good movie, although probably not everyone's cup of tea.

Glad I ordered Scott Pilgrim for store pickup early on Sunday. I got a slip cover (and amazingly in great shape), but all of the remaining copies on the shelf had no slip cover.

My local Best Buy had at least 20 copies of Scott Pilgrim with the slipcover ... I couldn't find any copied that didn't have one.

I didn't love Scott Pilgrim even though I feel like I got every reference and, in fact, lived through the pop-culture references they appealed to. However, I did like it enough to own! My girlfriend hated it (and this is the same girl that loves Lost, likes Doctor Who and MST3K). If and when I watch it again I'll be doing it (watching the film that is) alone.
