My unofficial estimate from the thread is that the most-purchased appears to be It Happened One Night, with Eraserhead a close second. Which is quite a pair!

^ I'd say La Dolce Vita is the runaway winner.

It always WILL be unless they create a digital version of it. They been doing this since 1984, so I think 30 years of material fits quite nicely in this book.

I'm on the fence about using the 30% off coupon on it to get it for about $50 from BN.com. I guess it'll come down to whether or not I can get the box sets I want in-store this weekend. Otherwise, I'll need to use the one-time code on one of those.

I'm a little out of the loop. Can you explain this coupon?

no matter how much time I spend crunching numbers and trying to figure all the angles and permutations of what to get with which coupon and when, I inevitably screw up and realize I would have been better off if I'd just done things differently.

This is gonna take some thought...

Stop over-thinking it and just find some titles you want and a price you think is good enough and get them. I bought the Tati set about 10 days or so ago with a 15% off coupon and here we are with a 30% coupon in our hands. I'm not losing any sleep over it. In the end we are still getting these titles cheaper than we would anywhere else.

What is queering the deal is that I just bought a $120 book on Sunday using the snail mail, unique code, 20% coupon. I had to pull the trigger because I wasn't sure the price wouldn't go up over the next several days- but I essentially wasted a good coupon I could have used in store since generic 20% codes appeared the next day online.

The problem is I'll save more money (which is the point after all) if I use the online code to just re-order the book and return the first copy.
That leaves a store coupon to use- but the only store that has either movie I want is the one store that is a PITA to try to use a generic coupon with.

It just sucks that I'm wasting good and limited use coupons re-ordering the same thing- and I'm no closer to picking up those last two movies...

I feel your pain.

There are two expensive books (75 Years of Marvel is one!) that I really want to get 30% off on, but... if I get them, it'd literally be ten Criterions I could no longer afford. And those come out to 60%+ off...

First world problems!

Yeah, I'm blessed that I have a relative that works at a nice bookstore that gets 50% off (their total order) coupons, so I will be getting that Criterion book in less than a month.

I think I'm mostly done after today's purchases. There are a couple titles my nearest store didn't have, so I might go a little out of the way for those this weekend if I feel up to it.

Week 1

Week 2

Week 3

Congratulations Shagrath! I read the post of your adventure today - That is quite the bargain haul of the season. No way in hell I could ever get away with that here, but if you can, with the managers blessing no less, more power to you.
I just hope you'll watch more than two of those before the next sale

Week 3 was a killer even with all those coupons. Had to be at least 700 bucks easily.
