Dollar General Blu-rays
I hesitated before starting a new thread, but what I found really didn't fit in any of the pre-existing Dollar General BD threads. Maybe this will end up being a good "catch-all" for BD deals in the future at DG.
Discovered some new stuff -- new to me, at least. Though the displays were full which would seem to indicate it hadn't been out for long. Both stores I visited had 2 cardboard "table-top" displays. One had the displays in 2 different locations, while another had them side-by-side. The content of each display was almost identical, including the same season of several TV shows on DVD.
On to the BDs. I picked up the following, boosted by the fact that I used one of the Saturday DG coupons ($5 off $30 purchase):
Believe in Me - $2.95
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (BD/DVD) - $4.95
Alpha Dog/Assault on Precinct 13 (newer one) Double Feature - $4.95
Napoleon Dynamite (10th Anniversary BD/DVD) - $4.95
Act of Valor (BD/DVD/DC) - $4.95
Predators (BD/DVD/DC) - $4.95
Seabiscuit (BD/DVD) - $4.95
Some others I recall off the top of my head (at $4.95)
The Mummy (1999)
Mercury Rising/The Jackal Double Feature
The Place Beyond the Pines
Admission
Ramona & Beezus
Wrong Turn 5?
Promised Land
Johnny English Reborn
Shark Week 25th Anniversary
Do the Right Thing
Perhaps more will come to mind and I'll update. Also, one of the stores had a couple coopies of The Amazing Spider-man and "mask" for $6. Believe it was this one.

Visited a different store that I don't usually get to and found a few $4.95 BDs I hadn't seen before:
The Bourne Legacy
The Man with the Iron Fists
I'm not sure what you mean by gift set. I've noticed the 2-disc special edition DVD (like the one here), but priced at $4.95

Re: Dollar General Blu-rays
It's the re-make. They're all the "unrated" versions. I've had my eye on it for a while, but I usually find it for $12-15. Its a good package for a low price(if you know what I mean).

Re: Dollar General Blu-rays
If anyone drinks Dr. Pepper/Diet Dr. Pepper - Dollar General has 12-Pack Cans/6 or 8 Pack Bottles 3 for $10 - and you get $5 towards your next visit.
Can use the $5 towards one of those $4.95 Blu-Rays. Hoping to do that either on Friday or Saturday.
The deal ends on Saturday - you have till the following Saturday to use the $5.

Re: Dollar General Blu-rays
One note: It definitely works with the 12 packs. I just bought some yesterday, submitted the receipt and received my code today. I started to buy the 8 packs of 16.9 oz bottles, but they're not listed as part of this movie ticket promotion. It's possible they could still work, but I didn't want it to be rejected so I didn't attempt it.

Saw 2 copies of Das Boot (Steelbook) for $10. I'm posting it since it's something new, but it looks like it's been cheaper in the past on Amazon. Though right now, it's almost $38.

Re: Dollar General Blu-rays
And yet another note: DG had a $2 off of $10 digitial coupon that I was able to load on to my account. Think it expired today. So I just picked up 3 more 12 packs for $8, received another $5 coupon and will redeem for a $5 movie ticket voucher (not sure if this is 1 per phone number/account, hoping it can be redeemed multiple times)
Edit: And of course there's the $5 off $25 digital coupon good for tomorrow that's available. That could help knock the cost down, though you'd need to purchase some additional items.

Re: Dollar General Blu-rays
Good News - was able to purchase six 12-Packs of Diet Dr. Pepper so I got $10 back to be used on my next visit/two codes to redeem for two movie vouchers.
Bad News #1 (for now) - Unfortunately I was in a hurry and wasn't able to check out the DVD/Blu-Rays section so I couldn't do my next visit then and spend the $10 towards a couple of DVDs/Blu-Rays. Sigh - going to have to make another visit sometime next week so I don't lose the $10.
Bad News #2 - Darn, didn't know about the $2 off of $10 digital coupon - would have been nice to get another $2 off. Oh well!

^^^
wish I read this thread earlier, but after my rounds on Saturday, I couldn't force myself back out.
Went to several stores today and found All Quiet on the Western Front digibook, but no Buck Privates. 4.95 is a steal for this. Every store in my area that had a digibook, had AQotQF, so I assume they are distributing these regionally, kind of the way Dollar Tree does it. Also saw an Amazing Spiderman 2 Electro head at one of the stores, 3 months after BF. Hard to believe it lasted that long.
picked up:
All Quiet on the Western Front digibook - 4.95
The Gangster Collection (American Gangster/Casino/Eastern Promises) [Blu-ray] - 6.95
The Bourne Legacy - 4.95
Also picked up DVDs:
Smurf S1 V1 - 6.95
Barabbas (remake) - 2.95
Heather McDonald: I Don't Mean to Brag - 2.95
Griff the Invisible = 2.95 (didn't realize a Blu-ray existed for this) - 2.95
all before 5/25 coupon. (or should I say more than one with filler household items )

Unfortunately I couldn't find another DVD/Blu-Ray so I spent the other $5 towards some food items.
Hopefully they have this deal again - buy some 6/8/12 Packs and get some cash back that we could use towards DVDs/Blu-Rays.

Re: Dollar General Blu-rays
Yesterday was my day off so I went on a treasure hunt. After snagging the X-Files seasons 2-6 at Target for $7.50 I hit 3 Dollar General locations yesterday and only one store had a selection so I picked up the following titles:
Flyboys
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
American Graffiti
Valkyrie
You, Me and Dupree
There were plenty of titles I already owned including "All Quiet on the Western Front" digibooks but no "Buck Privates." One store had the "Electro" and "Spider-man Mask" Gift sets. I already own the standard 3-D lenticular release so I passed. A local F.Y.E type store in my area called Zia Records also had a B3G1 deal so the assaullt on my wallet was heavy bombardment yesterday!

Re: Dollar General Blu-rays
I hit all five of my local Dollar Generals today, and, seemingly bucking the trend that I've been seeing in this thread, I found the BUCK PRIVATES digibook but not the ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT one. Out of the five DGs, only one had that one copy of BUCK PRIVATES--no other digibooks to be seen.
I grabbed AMERICAN GRAFFITI and A BEAUTIFUL MIND at $4.95 each while I was there as well.

Re: Dollar General Blu-rays
A brand new store opened up near me yesterday. So I went in today and wondered what the media selection might look like. I scored a bunch of $2.95 BDs!
Dark Blue
The Delta Force
Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium
Owl City
Platoon
Rescue Dawn
Ronin
Straw Dogs
To Live and Die in LA
Titanic (1953)
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps
They had many others that I already owned--Antwone Fisher, the individual Rocky films, Don't Say a Word
Triple Features for $6.95--Kevin Costner one (Bull Durham, Mr. Brooks from what I recall), an action one, and another that included City Slickers and Back to School.
Then to top it off, the rack of previously viewed BDs were $1.95. These are the ones in the sleeves, but I've seen them at $3.95 at most places. I don't normally purchase them because of the price. But at $1.95, I discovered many interesting titles: Cars 2, Tron (original), Disney's Snow White, Hunger (Criterion).
Tomorrow, there's another $5 coupon available, but I couldn't count on all of these still being there if I waited until then.
