IMO, Olive is a bit overpriced. I've been getting mine from Hamilton. There was only 1 title in this sale I wanted: the Cagney indie.

I picked up Iwo Jima and Birdman plus a $4 CD for free shipping (shipping is $4 anyway, might as well get a CD out of it).

Most everything is backordered, and DD does not do a great job with BOs.

No - it's not and doesn't even include every Olive title DD carries. I have a few in my wish list that aren't included - titles I've been waiting to be included in one of these Olive B1G1 for a couple of years...

Only needed to Olive titles to own everything I wanted from their catalog, and both were in the sale (BODY SNATCHERS and BUCKET OF BLOOD Signatures). Might pick up a couple of cheaper ones later on. Not sure what would be missing as DD has a longer list of titles than I thought Olive even had, although I suspect a couple of Signature editions I already own weren't among the selections.

I actually thought Olive had gone out of business at some point since there hasn't been any (?) new releases in forever.

I just found out the main person in charge of releasing Olive films is now the head of Kino. Maybe they never replaced him

I dont know what their pricing strategy is given all those older sub-par releases being priced higher (even with BOGO) or on par with select remastered releases of the same titles from KL. Many of these don't even have minimum features like subtitles. And then there's the EHB sales thru the years where select Olive titles in this list could be had for as low as $2.95 or $3.95.

Damn, just when I thought all deals on Olives had dried up and paid good $ for ‘Letter from an unknown woman’ a month ago. Only interested in the Signature editions .‘Rio Grande’, I am +ve will receive a 4K treatment as will ‘Quiet Man’. Decisions
