Ah, you replied to me in that thread. We're probably on the same order then.

Probably so as I think he contacted everyone posting about a group buy after the previous one closed.

At first I held off too long on my order and the two Noir sets went out of stock. Placed my order without them (grudgingly because of shipping on a smaller order), only to see them available again last night. Cancelled and re-ordered:

FILM NOIR 1
FILM NOIR 2
HAMMER 5
FU MANCHU CYCLE
THE WRONG BOX
THE TINGLER
I MONSTER

Shipping was $42 CDN, so about $6 per, which is pretty reasonable, especially on those boxed sets (which I’ve never really seen that cheap, relatively speaking). Agreed that this is a pretty solid sale, and even if you don’t participate in a group buy or – like me – can’t get to £200 because you already own a bunch of Indicator stuff, you can at least make the shipping make sense with a combination of boxes and singles.

BTW, regarding 13 GHOSTS, the product description lists “on-disc ghost viewer options” so presumably they’ve made up for the lack of a physical viewer. I have this in the William Castle set but haven’t watched it yet. Held on to my ghost viewer from the old DVD, but I’d imagine a pair of red/blue 3D glasses would do the trick, if it’s even necessary on the Indicator disc.

If you already bought 14 movies, why didn't you stretch that order out even further to get to 200 pounds and supposedly free shipping?
That's a huge order, but it might be worth it to do all your Indicator shopping once every five years so that you may reach this threshold more easily!

Depending on the cost of those 14 titles – 14 at £6.99 doesn’t even crack £100 – stretching to £200 could’ve been difficult.

Re: Powerhouse/Indicator (UK) Blu-ray Sales

Yes, I got everything I could want from the sale and couldn't come to the 200 pound limit... As I said, everything worked out to about $10 a movie (or so) even with shipping, so no complaints! (Plus, I really couldn't afford a $275 order right now)

Re: Powerhouse/Indicator (UK) Blu-ray Sales

A flash sale started today. Runs a week.
Free shipping over £50 for UK, £200 for International orders.
https://www.powerhousefilms.co.uk/collections/sale

US buyers would be wise to do a group buy to get to £200 for free shipping. I'm not sure if there enough people here who'd be interested.

Wow, phenomenal sale thanks. With the sterling being at its weakest against the USD in the longest time, this was too good to pass up. 32 titles including 25 titles in the '3 for £15' sale (came to $4.44 each after removal of VAT), 4 LEs (Geronimo, Scum, They Made Me a Fugitive and Gray Lady down) and 3 box sets (Columbia Noir #3, #4 and the Mae West set that I have been eyeing for a long time) all for $238 + Free Ship (Paid with my Chase CC which was $10 lesser than what PayPal wanted). My first purchase with Powerhouse direct, super impressed with their customer service as well. Last night placed a hasty order under £200 and ended up getting charged £33.85 shipping forgetting that £200 gave you free shipping. Immediately wrote them asking if they could cancel the order and in less than 30 mins, had an email with confirmation of order cancellation and a refund. Current sale runs until 10/16

Re: Powerhouse/Indicator (UK) Blu-ray Sales

Some excellent prices here even if you don't hit the high free shipping threshold. I looked only at Region-Free titles and picked up:

THE WRONG BOX - BD × 1
THE LAST DETAIL - BD × 1
THE COLLECTOR - BD × 1
THE CHINA SYNDROME - BD × 1
NIGHT OF THE DEMON - BD × 1
MODERN ROMANCE - BD × 1
HOUSEKEEPING - BD × 1
HARDCORE - BD × 1
GEORGY GIRL - BD × 1

All of these were part of the 3 for £15 sale (which doesn't seem to require a multiple of 3 discs to get the reduced pricing) except the 2-disc Night Of The Demon set which was £9.99. The total charged to my card (which does not charge foreign transaction fees) was $67.01, shipped. So an average of $7.45 per title.

Re: Powerhouse/Indicator (UK) Blu-ray Sales

Received my order of 32 titles today with Fedex International tracking. Solid packaging in a sturdy box. While it wouldn't be possible to place £200 orders for free shipping all the time, the overall customer service experience with the company won't deter me from considering smaller orders. Glad to have made this order as the sterling has since crept up

My 9 title order arrived today as well, and I second all these comments about the packaging and the overall positive experience. I still can't quite believe I got these extras-packed high quality editions of these titles (see my post from October 15) for these prices. Even without free shipping, and with shipping accounting for almost 1/3 of my total cost, the shipped price of about $7.45 per title is hard to complain about.

The Powerhouse sale is live now. Some good stuff in the '3 for £15' selections. Not sure how badly shipping/customs will screw that up, though. If you've bought previous Indicator boxed sets, you might need to double check those first as some of these singles originated in those collections.

I loaded up my cart with a bunch of the 3 for £15 titles -- mostly Harryhausen and Stanley Kramer -- but have not pulled the trigger. I believe these are all region free (another thing you need to check if that is important to you -- but their listings clearly indicate region):

Harryhausen:

FIRST MEN IN THE MOON - BD
MYSTERIOUS ISLAND - BD
THE 3 WORLDS OF GULLIVER - BD
THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD - BD
SINBAD AND THE EYE OF THE TIGER - BD
THE 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD - BD
IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA - BD
20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH - BD

Kramer:
SHIP OF FOOLS - BD
THE WILD ONE - BD
THE 5,000 FINGERS OF DR. T - BD

Other:
BODY DOUBLE - BD
SUDDENLY, LAST SUMMER - BD
THE DAMNED - BD

So 14 titles. Going through most of checkout shows £4 per title after VAT removal. With shipping to my New York state address it would come to £81.96. That's right around 100 bucks at current exchange rates. About $7.15 a title.

So even with the hefty shipping there are once again good deals to be had here, especially on those 3 for £15 titles. (I'm just not sure if I personally want to make the expenditure right now).

Well, I realized this morning that when I priced this out initially I hadn't selected the least expensive shipping option to the USA ("US & Canada Parcel Tracked Shipping"). After doing that the total for this order, shipped, came down to £75.50. Not a huge additional savings but I was wavering anyway and it was enough to make my weak brain say OK. My credit card was charged USD $92.86. So about $6.63 on a per title basis.

When I ordered from the last iteration of this sale I was very happy with the experience -- shipping, packaging, and the discs themselves. I was especially pleased with the quality of the extras that Indicator includes.
