The Blu-ray set features completely new transfers struck from quality film elements. The movies were shot using Agfacolor, the German equivalent to Technicolor. Which version are you watching? The BDs offer both versions - the Academy Aspect originals and cropped widescreen presentations.

The Film Movement DVD Box with the Red Cover. Did I make a big mistake going dvd on this one? It was part of a buy 3 pay for 2 sale at Amazon. The blu-ray edition was not on sale. The DVD offers the three films separately, & then a 1:45 USA combination of all 3, I'm watching the individual films on the dvd set right now. They take up my entire screen, so they are likely the 16 x 9 cropped?

Many of the screen caps on your review looks blurry to me in the same way that my dvd set does. May just be the Agfa. I don't know what the Aspect ratio is; whatever FM used for the dvd box.
