Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

Hope this might consolidate the various Shout and Scream threads that randomly pop up around here, since there all generally in the same ballpark, price wise.

Just got this email today:

Save Up To 80% During Scream Factory’s ’90s Sale
It’s that time of year when a little guy armed with a crossbow goes on a questionable rampage. Yes, we’re talking about Cupid and we’re not completely sure of his intentions. That’s why we bring you the Love Is In The Scare sale, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Scream Factory is giving props to ’90s horror with this sale! Choose from the star power of Species and John Carpenter films, or the original Candyman (before Jordan Peele’s remake hits theaters). In honor of an era that rocked the horror genre, we present nearly 70 of our best horror films from the '90s. This is a hellava good time to complete your collection. When you own it, you can watch it whenever you want at no extra cost. And with this sale, you’ll save up to 80% off list price and get free standard U.S. shipping on orders over $50!

Whether you love Carpenter’s direction, Bruce Campbell’s acting, Clive Barker’s writing, or a “bangin’” Stephen King movie, indulge! And while you're shopping, enter for a chance to win some of our favorite ’00s films, because we love the naughts too. Mark your calendar, the sale ends late night PT on February 17.

There's some decent prices one lesser titles this time around, with a few oddball titles under $10. CAGED FURY for $5.99 was a steal, but sold out fast.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

Scream's OOP Vincent Price Collection II is $20 at Hamilton books. This was previously going for over $40 when copies had run out at Amazon and other retailers.

Good catch. Back cover image, at least, suggests it comes with the slipcase? Looks like that one's creeping up in value just like the first one did.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

I'm pissed that I didn't wait on this sale for Candyman; got it at the last sale, 'cuz I thought it wouldn't get lower than $19.99. I was wrong, apparently.

But as someone who never learns from his mistakes, I still got
In The Mouth of Madness
The Resurrected
Army of Darkness

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

Some good stuff in this sale and decent prices. I already own a lot of it though and am going to resist the temptation to make a couple blind buys or get things I don’t really need.

VPII is really the only way to get House on Haunted Hill reasonably in HD. I have VPIII but VPI is way out of my price range.

Definitely - anyone that follows Shout's retail pricing knows many of those discs literally never go on sale. The Anne Bancroft Collection is a really nice set. Shout used Criterion's disc for the included The Graduate in the collection.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

Got that email earlier today, and browsing now I see some excellent deals. I’ve got 8 in the cart, but need to check the unwatched stacks here first, just in case.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

How is the Death of a Salesman Dustin Hoffman version. My cart total was 2 dollars shy of free shipping so I decided against it. But the DOAS disc is only 9.99. So I'm thinkin on it.

The Nightingale is $14.14 on Amazon too. One of the best films of last year. Brutal.

The Candyman deal died hours ago. You snooze, you lose.

Some pretty fair deals there. And some so-so deals, plus several titles that I assume have been out of stock for a while(?). And lots of titles I suspect we'll see at Hamilton Books for under $5.00 in the long haul, so choose carefully.

You have to have around fifty dollars after the coupon has applied for free shipping.

Every Bo Derek fan needs the Bolero double-feature in the sale.

Too bad only Bo Derek is good. The plots are beyond stupid.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

Picked up The Vampire Lovers and The Evictors. The code made it essentially free shipping, and a couple more bucks off. That's good enough for me.
