I'd highly recommend stocking up on Severin's blowout discs – especially the $3.00 titles as most of their DVDs (and some Blus) are "clearanced" for that price eventually (in other words, hold off on the $7.00 stuff). I love the work they do keeping fringe-y titles in circulation and producing copious supplements, but a lot of their stuff is maybe worth seeing once and has debatable replay value despite the gleefully hyperbolic sleeve copy and fawning praise from websites you've probably never heard of. These prices make them good way to test the waters on movies you might otherwise regret paying full-price or even BF prices for.

I used to pick up some of their new-ish Blu-rays and bundles during their half-way and BF sales, but realizing just how many of them I ended up flipping, I now more often opt for the blowout DVDs, where I can at least increase the profit margin if I do end up re-selling them. I noticed a few $1.00 titles in the mix this time around; bet those sold out pretty quick! At $1.00, BIRDEMIC can finally be a justifiable purchase!

Link to the ‘blowout’ DVDs ?

Edit: Never mind, found it. It’s buried and scattered in DVDs section on the site.

It's remarkably easy, especially with many Franco, late Fulci, D'Amato titles. But hey, I'm glad I could at least see them in the best presentations they're likely ever to receive. There's no denying Severin goes all in, and admittedly I do find it hard to resist their boxed sets in these sales. Curious if the folk horror set will be reduced in this one. Seems a bit early. Looks like the next big one they're teasing is some kind of Ray Dennis Steckler box.

What are the chances there is some sort of discount on the All The Haunts Be Ours set?

I know it was only released about 5-months back.

I am torn. I don't NEED to spend almost $40 on a bunch of crappy movies on DVD, and it's not in my budget, but a sick part of me WANTS to. What should I do?

I was gonna go for the $5 single-disc Blu, but (As one might’ve noticed) they were all out of stock. Ended up going for the 2-Disc Blu.

I should point out that Drew was talking about intentionally running red lights in front of a police car, if it was pouring rain outside, just to make the cop get out of his car and write the ticket.

That's a pretty solid analogy to what I'm about to do, except in my case I'll be both the driver AND the cop.

Yup – it was a Steckler box. Maaaan . . .

https://severinfilms.com/shop/incred...-steckler-box/

10 discs, 20 films, (including some porn stuff), 30 hours of supplements. The decent bonus material from the old Shriek Show DVDs seems to have been ported over as well (including the excellent Joe Bob Briggs commentaries)..

Kinda curious what "READING PENNSYLVANIA" is on Disc 10 (aside from being his home town). It's 237 minutes long and doesn't seem to be in his filmography.

See: the incredibly comprehensive 10-disc career spanning collection from producer/director/writer/showman/star Ray Dennis Steckler – along with noms de cinéma that included Sven Christian, Wolfgang Schmidt, Cindy Lou Sutters and Cash Flagg – “an unheralded auteur misunderstood by the mainstream and de-legitimized by a critical community unable to appreciate his genius.” (PopMatters)

See: 20 incredibly strange films scanned in 4K/2K from the best existing 35MM/16MM vault elements, sole remaining prints and video masters – including several rarely-seen, thought-lost or never-before-on-disc, plus all-new Special Features, audio commentaries, a full-color book and more that smashes the fun barrier!

See: the incredibly true story – filmed in Hallucinogenic Hypno-Vision & Terrorama! – behind one of the most incomparable, unstoppable and wildly original talents in horror, exploitation, adult film and pop culture history.

New Book:

The Incredibly Strange Filmmaker Who Stopped Living And Became A Mixed-Up Legend written by Zack Carlson, co-author of Destroy All Movies!!! and Bleeding Skull: A 1990s Trash-Horror Odyssey, with contributions by Charles Devlin

re: Severin Films - Deals and Sales Thread

More titles announced for the upcoming sale (in addition to FACELESS 4K – really? – FEMALE EXECUTIONER and ALL ABOUT EVIL. A kinda lacklustre batch to these eyes, but I'm sure Severin's patented hyperbole and garish artwork will move a good number of units.

LIBIDO (directed by Ernesto Gastaldi)
MACUMBA SEXUAL (directed by Jess Franco)
MANSION OF THE DEAD (also Franco)
BLOOD HUNT (directed by Javier Elorrieta)

And there's still one title yet to be announced, right? I'll probably pick up Libido at some point, but I don't know if it'll be during the sale. I guess it'll all come down to the eighth title.

re: Severin Films - Deals and Sales Thread

Not to knock the company's sometimes obscure (or "groundbreaking!" and "underseen!" to use Severin's parlance) eurocult choices – well, maybe the endless Francos – but I'm confident that none of these will sell out, and all will end up favourably reduced further down the road. I think most of their Franco- and Gastaldi-related titles, for example – and really, most of their stuff in general outside of perhaps certain boxed sets – have usually ended up clearance-priced within, what, a couple of years, maybe more? For those who aren't fussy about HD, the DVD counterparts (assuming they produce them) will likely be "clearanced" at $3.00 a couple of years down the road. I believe a few folks here stocked up in their most recent DVD clearance. I just don't see the Brigitte Lahaie crime thrillers being as coveted as Severin will try to convince people they are.

re: Severin Films - Deals and Sales Thread

The last title is 1988's The Shadowed Mind.

But I still think I'll order Zombi 3, the Lenzi/Baker giallo collection, and Libido, assuming I can actually get an order in when the prices are right.

Interesting. Not familiar with that one at all, and it sounds rather extreme, but still a clearance title for me I suspect. I wonder if this is another case where they've acquired a catalog of a director's films. Cedric Sundstrom was never a standout, but he cranked out some forgettable B-movies – including a couple with Cannon – that might be at home alongside the cinematic universe of Jalal Merhi, although the latter presumably owned most of his own movies.

I’m not getting any bundles this go round, but plan on getting some new, some old, and some merch. I emailed them and asked about my Chris Lee & DVD clearance orders and asked if they were shipping before the sale, and the response was that’s the plan.

re: Severin Films - Deals and Sales Thread

Probably good you ordered those clearance DVDs (grabbed 25 myself, shipped and received). Severin posted their sale guidelines tonight . . .

https://severinpolicies.com/

. . . and one interesting note involved the DVDs.

Where are the DVDs? We are slowly phasing out our DVD releases, beginning with our webstore. After the site re-opens, only our Intervision DVDs and a small handful of DVD-only Severin releases will be available from then on. PLEASE NOTE: If you have an open order that contains a DVD that we no longer carry in it, the order WILL still be filled.
Kinda puts paid to my plan to wait for the DVD blowouts, and I’m assuming new titles going forward won’t have DVD counterparts. However, I have purchased many Severin Blu-rays at blowout prices as well (usually $5.00), so there’s still a chance of sampling stuff long after release date without breaking the bank.

Speaking of which, nice to see the ALL THE HAUNTS set will be included in the sale, but I don’t think $110 is half price yet (the regular price is $179.99 and the listing didn’t carry a MSRP when I checked the other night. So the question will be whether to hold off.

Some other boxes are part of a 24-hour flash sale this time around, with some very appealing prices:

24-Hour Box Set Flash SaleListen carefully, children! Starting at the very beginning of Saturday, June 11th, and concluding at the stroke of midnight going into Sunday, June 12th, Severin Films will be doing a special 24 hour Flash Sale on some of our popular Box Sets. We will be selling the following Box Sets at their lowest prices ever. Wonder if any would sell out:
  • All The Haunts Be Ours ($110)
  • The Eurocrypt of Christopher Lee Collection 1 ($60)
  • The Dungeon of Andy Milligan ($70)
  • The Complete Lenzi/Baker Giallo Collection ($45)
  • Nasty Habits: The Nunsploitation Collection ($40)

I'm definitely going to try for the All The Haunts Be Ours set.

The sale on it only lasts 24-hours so I'm really hoping Severin's site doesn't implode again.
