Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

The All Stars Comics archive looks interesting. Not into buying books much these days but if I see one I might grab it.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Since I was already in Chattown for a job interview today, and just three minutes from a different Ollie's. Found the large Captain America 40 removable poster book for $2.99. Thought about buying the Superman Vol 3 Archive (8.99,), but the softcover Vol 2" Golden Age Collection I picked up previously for $3.99 was a much better deal.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

With the exception of the Batman New 52 trades, my local Ollies hasn't re-stocked at all with new stuff. It's weird because as far as I can see is selling well on the store.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Went to an Ollie's yesterday and got the following hardcovers:

Deadpool Classic Omnibus ($125 cover price) $19.99
LOTDK Jim Aparo Vol. 3 ($50) $8.99
Star Wars Droids & Ewoks ($75) $12.99
Deadpool Vol. 3 (Posehn) ($35) $6.99
Ms. Marvel Vol. 2 (Wilson) ($35) $7.99

The Deadpool Classic Omnibus was the only copy left, there were plenty of copies for the other titles
Ms. Marvel Vol. 1 hardcover was also available.

Ollie's flyer for tomorrow has Superman Unchained for $5.99 and Marvel Legacy of Jack Kirby for $7.99, and then says, "Find these titles and more!"

I remember paying nearly full price for Superman Unchained when it first came out.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

I'll probably take a ride over to the Woonsocket store, if I don't get any comics at least I can buy some Larabars for next to nothing.

Ollie's is interesting for bargain hunters but their comic book/regular book deals are probably the chain's best feature. Visiting an Ollie's is like stepping back in time, it's a retail experience from a different era.

Woonsocket is fun to say, but did you have any luck with graphic novels at Ollie's?

I was told it's pronounced "Win-socket", not "Woon".

I was just over there today. I didn't see all that much much that interested me- they did have The Marvel Legacy of Jack Kirby book for $8, a Star Trek map book for $10 which looked interesting, and a huge Guardians of the Galaxy omnibus for $20. Not so big into buying paper these days unless it's something I really want.

Plenty of junk food for cheap after the 15% coupon.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Good that they are still getting stuff. I caved on the Guardians Omnibus and bought it on ebay for $30 + shipping a couple weeks ago.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Maybe I'll take another drive over there. Not so interested in the superhero stuff, more the movie/literature based graphic novels.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Went there and the TPB section has been cleaned up but not re-stocked. On the other hand, they had Marvel/DC mixed 5-packs for $4.99 and mixed 10-packs for $6.99. Picked several of the 10-packs and 1 5-pack and it had a good assortment of 80's, 90's and some recent stuff.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

I'm going to have to get to an Ollie's. Sounds like some good stuff, especially the noirs and unwrapped stuff, interesting that it seems to be skewing DC, there's been so much Marvel stuff at Ollie's since the late summer/fall.

What's the retail price for the Batman hardcovers?

This is mostly because DC output of TPBs has decreased heavily over the past 3 years. On the other hand, Marvel has increased their output, so there's more stuff of theirs on clearance after a while.
