yeah I’m not sure how they buy what for where, for years where I am and west is all DC, but if I drive an hour plus south it’s all Marvel

Any Star Trek comics lately? Last time I was there I saw a few Trek oriented books, but no comics at the Woonsocket store.

Ollie's also prices their DC stuff much cheaper than their Marvel trades.

Yes! Many of the 10 packs have Star Trek issues from the run at Malibu and IDW. Lots of Deep Space Nine in these bags

I'm not interested in the variety packs, I'm more interested in graphic novels/TPBs.

Around 6 years ago, Ollies had acquired a lot of IDW trades including the Star Trek ones. Since then, I haven't seen anything else other than Marvel and DC trades.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Went to an Ollie's today and there wasn't anything new. Worse, the TPBs were just lying around like a hurricane hit it. Most were beat up and/or damaged & the workers obviously don't care about the condition of the books.

I know this isn't comics but some here might be interested in it. My local one had a bunch of the books of The Planet Of The Apes: Original Topps Trading Card Series for just $3.99.

I have always wanted to pick up the Star Wars books of these but never found them at a great price yet.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Nice. I'd like to find this and the star trek collection. I picked up Wacky Packages, I think at a used book store. If you want to go full retro, I highly encourage you to check out the Marvel Classic Sticker Book, which has reproductions of the stickers from the 1960's set and two sets from maybe 1975 and 1976. It' strictly for nostalgia. MCU fans will find it too corny.

I came across one from DC Comics back in early November.

Was that the DC Comics one or the re-release by IDW?

I'm positive it was DC Comics. Any difference between the two releases?

Just the logos and credits from my understanding. Not sure if the paper stock is different.

The logo on the above cover looks like the old Titan Books logo.

Yeah, I would pick up that John Byrne DC Universe! You're in for a treat on the Aaron/Bachalo D. Strange.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Got the out of print Django Unchained hardcover collection for $4.99 and several 5 packs for the same price. Also saw that the mixed 10 packs have been discounted to $4.99 from $6.99. There's a 15% off Valentines coupon right now, so it's a good time to take advantage of the stock.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

picked up Batman '66 Wonder Woman '77, saw another Batman '66 hardcover, Squirrel Girl beats the Marvel Universe, a bunch of Age of Ultrons and Marvel Ultimate Omnibus (The one with Ultimate Spider-man, Hulk, and Wolverine or something on the cover), Batman super heavy. Trades were kind of scattered. 2 volumes of Thunder Agents and Golden Age Superman Archives Volume 3. Vigilante and other trade paperbacks. Large coffee table book of DC Variant covers. Surprised I resisted it. Forgot to check the price.

Woostah.

I also picked up some sets of Marvel 80th Anniversary pocket memo notebooks for $2.99, was pretty happy with those.

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

Man, I paid $30 for that DC Variants cover back when it came out as it was something that I planned on taking to cons to get signed. Got several signatures but no cons in the past year also means no new sigs.

As for weird things found at Ollies, I bought a first edition of Star Wars Thrawn Alliances hardcover for $3.99, but the book came from the Alameda County Library. Didn't know that Ollies buys used books like that

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

It's not unheard of for old library books to end up among remainders. I've spotted a few from time to time, at outlet stores. I might have seen one or two at a Borders, where they had stacks of random remainders; don't think I ever saw one at B&N, though. I would guess that bookstrores like B&N get most of their remainders directly from distributors, which are overstocks. Other places probably get theirs from other places, which might have some library stock mixed in at some point.

And Ollie's hasn't moved out West, why?

We get screwed out here. I mean, I'm glad that people do have the opportunity to get this stuff where they do, but it sure would be nice to have an outlet for stuff like that here, too!

Re: Ollie's Bargain Outlet

My trip this week included Hawkman archives vol 2 & The Golden Age Flash archives vol 2 and these guys. I also saw an art of Jock book but passed on it and am going to go back and get it after researching it a little more.
