Re: Happy 60th, Spidey!
According to Stan Lee's official website,
Sixty years ago, on June 5, 1962, Spider-Man first swung into the pages of Marvel Comics. He debuted in Amazing Fantasy #15, cover dated August 1962, co-created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. (Yes, that is Jack Kirby art gracing the cover.)

So, if I’m remembering right, Spider-Man, Superman and Batman all debuted in anthology type series. Are there any notable superheroes that debuted in their own title?

The Incredible Hulk (though an anti-hero at the start I guess) and teams like X-Men and Fantastic Four for Silver Age ...

Not too many when you think about it; at least for the Golden Age and Silver Age. Back then #1's didn't sell as well as titles that were already in print for a number of years. People were more inclined to pick up a title that they had read before rather than a new first issue of a character they never heard of before. That was part of the reason why some books continued on with the old numbering when the name of the title changed. Superman premiered in Action Comics #1. While it was an anthology series at first, it was technically always his book, but he didn't appear on the covers of some of the very early issues.
Daredevil would be another one from the Silver Age that premiered in his own title. Sgt. Fury is another, but not really a super hero.

I guess it makes more sense to give these characters tryouts in anthologies, kinda like TV spinoffs now.
60 years didn't seem long enough, since I started collecting the Marvel Tales feat. Spider-Man in the late 80s, but I guess by then it had already been going for 20+ years and had plenty of back issues to pull from.

Am I the only one who kinda wants to read a flash-forward miniseries about a 60-year-old Peter Parker and what it is like to continue as Spider-Man?
