Thanks for the heads up OP -- checked out my local NC and snagged two OOP titles: a mint used copy of the 2-disc special edition Big Trouble in Little China ($8), and a new sealed copy of Rebecca: Criterion Collection ($28) :-)

A whole lot of the criterions that they have in the new section seem to be used. At least repackaged in the little baggies they use for other used discs. I even bought one last year and when I got it home the discs had a really thick layer of dust on them.

Thanks to the original poster - picked up some decent bargains:
Paris Concert for Amnesty - $5.59
Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation - $4.79
AC-DC Family Jewels - $11.10 (missed the $9.99 sale a few weeks ago)
Patriots Super Bowl 36 & 38 box set - $9.50
The Office (1st Season) - $17.59
Thelma and Louise SE - $7.99
Maybe these aren't amazing steals, but all are better prices than I've found anywhere else. And on top of that, I'm happy to support a locally-owned chain....

Hit a couple other NC's in my area and nabbed ANOTHER Rebecca CC (new) and Big Trouble in Little China SE (used). Also picked up the CC Hitchcock boxset (couldn't resist for the price), along with several other OOP titles (Return of the Pink Panther, Mrs. Doubtfire, A Shot in the Dark, Joe Gould's Secret). All CC's I bought were perfect new copies, sealed w/security stickers. Also found a mint used copy of MVP Baseball 2005 (PS2) for $20!
The one OOP deal I DIDN'T pull the trigger on:
Blues Brothers CE (used, $32 after 20% off, sells ~ $50 used)
This was at the Harvard Square store yesterday, if anyone is interested. I'm surprised they knew how much it was worth, having it priced at $40 -- most NC stores have no clue.
Thanks again to the OP... I can't believe the deals I got this weekend! :-)

I wonder if they actually paid out the going rate to the poor shlep that had to sell it off for the extra money. Hope she/he got top dollar for it at least ...

Sale is back on through 9/14
I went to the Newbury comics in Hyannis today and was surprised to see that the sale was back on. All DVDs and CDs are 20% off of current price even if they are used or already on sale. I was told that the sale runs through next Wednesday the 14th. The best OOP item at this particular store had been a new copy of the Criterion Collection Hitchcock set which was still there about a month ago and which I was planning to buy for resale in the event of another 20% off sale but it's gone now. I'm not sure if the sale is chainwide but I thought that I should let people know in case they want to check their local stores.

I'm pretty sure it is chain-wide. I wish I had a more reliable way to find out about these sales, I'm sure I've completely missed a few of them. Last I checked, you can sign up for spam from them via their website, but I only want to know about the DVD sales and not anything else, so I expect their mailing list to be more hassle than it is worth.

Normally it includes things already on sale. The email I got said this sale dosen't. Who knows.
It's worth signing up for their email list, you get one email on Tuesdays, it's not all that annoying. Plus just about every week's email comes with a coupon for at least $3.00 off a DVD or CD.
Sale is from the 8th to the 14th.

I went last night and -- unlike previous sales -- it does EXCLUDE sale titles. So, lots of new releases, the top-20 DVDs, etc. are not part of the sale. I came out carrying a lot less than I ever have from one of these things.
