My package from Overstock fared better than I had feared it would, and there was no damage to the DVD packaging. That not-really-padded chipboard envelope has got to go, though. Those really suck. (Luckily this will probably be my only purchase from Overstock, unless they pull another crazy-delicious deal like this out of their asses again.)

my order still says "In Process"... This always happens to me with overstock.com. The last three times they did this to me they cancelled my order saying they wouldnt get anymore in stock. I think I am done with doing business with them.

Received KoH yesterday from Amazon, but disc 2 was a floater. I can see a slight scratch, but skipping through the chapters it seems to be OK. I think I'll just live with it if nothing is wrong when I watch the movie. The KoH package was in perfect condition, but the Amazon packaging hasn't been as good on my last few orders because they're just using those air bags which don't keep things from moving around in the box.

I received mine from Overstock today, and yeah, the corners are screwed up a little, as well as two of the sides.
I just don't feel like complaining, but they really should do something about their shipping. Ugh.

My copy Kingdom of Heaven (along with Viridiana) arrived on Tuesday using free shipping from Amazon. I was impressed with the speedy delivery. It was well-packed and in perfect condition with no floaters.

I received mine from Overstock. They shipped it in a paper mailer and it arrived totally smashed. Looks line someone jumped on it.
I guess I'll see how good they are with exchanges.

My copy (along with the new Boondock Saints) arrived safe and sound from Amazon.
for sturdy boxes and shrinkwrapping the dvd's to a cardboard backing.

Now why didn't Amazon shrinkwrap my KOH set to a cardboard backing? For a set like this, it should be mandatory; regardless if there are other dvds in the order or not.
I feel for you Videophile, as my copy from Amazon arrived crushed as well. I'm supposed to receive a replacement copy via 2 day mail, but if they had only taken the extra precaution, they could have avoided the extra effort altogether and I could be watching it now.

Get a load of this . . . I am in Springfield, IL, roughly 4 hours away from Overstock (apparently). On May 22 my order was received and processed by UPS Mail Innovations in Carol Stream, IL. On May 23 it was transferred to UPS Mail Innovations in KANSAS CITY, MO!?!?!? Does anybody have a map that they can post and plot the course of my package Indiana Jones-style?

Bad news from Overstock about my exchange. I received an e-mail from them that reads, in part:
Unfortunately, the 'Kingdom of Heaven - Director's Cut (SE/DVD)' that you ordered is no longer in stock and we will be unable to send a replacement. I have contacted our Return Processing Center. Instructions on how to process your return will be emailed to you within the next 2 to 4 business days.
Well, I'm a bit pissed.

Just got an email from Overstock that KoH-DC is back in stock -- a whopping total of two copies! Sure hope these are two leftover copies after they filled the backorders.

That does suck, tofferman. Glad to hear they're shipping a replacement!

Got mine from amazon the other day. One corner is crushed a little. I feel lucky after reading these horror stories. The shipping box was destroyed! There was a huge footprint in it. Those UPS doods have no shame. They just hand you thier handywork without batting an eye.

Regarding floaters, for those who want to take the initiative and buy an error scanning drive like the BenQ DW1650 or DW1655 for about $35-$45 delivered from Newegg, the free Nero CD-DVD Speed utility scans beneath the error correction and will visually tell you on a graph if any scratches have done any significant damage to the disc. That way it's not necessary to play it and hope to catch any problems by watching it or skipping around chapters. However, most people probably wouldn't think learning how to do this is worth effort and paying about $40 unless you like to mess with computers.

By the way, thanks OP for this deal. Can't wait to watch this movie!
