Overstock's shipping is totally whacked. I'm tracking my package now and it shows shipped from SC to NJ via UPS where it was delivered to the USPS for final delivery here to VA. WTF!?! It would've been quicker if they just used the USPS at the start!

Tell me about it, generally it takes overstock about 3 days to get things here, but they shipped my DVD out on Tuesday morning, and today it was entered into the USPS system in IL. What?

Maybe you should read this thread and about all the problems people are having.

Well, even though I mostly hated the theatrical version of the film, I just ordered the 4 disc from overstock for $15.65. I read all these great things about the director's cut between the dvdtalk review and what everyone is saying in this thread. So I'm hoping it delivers. lol

I finally received my pre-order today. When I saw the package I couldn't help but be reminded of the opening scene of "Ace Ventura Pet Detective." My "Kingdom of Heaven" case looks like someone punted it off of the upper-righthand corner. This was my first Overstock order and will probably be my last. I like the price but not at the sacrifice of receiving a quality item.

I think they're ok so long as you don't order something that doesn't come in a sturdy keepcase.

Haha, I don't know why I just thought of this, but remember when Overstock was out of stock on the Kingdom of Heaven. Yeah, that made me life. Overstock lol yeah right.

Finally received my DVDs on Saturday, but I do want to correct that they were shipped USPS media mail. They were mailed on May 19th and it took 15 days for the items to arrive. I have received numerous items by media mail and it has never taken this long before. I may be more careful next time I order from Amazon.

Well I finally got a response from Overstock concerning the damaged KoH and their packaging choices:

"Thank you for shopping with Overstock.com and for letting us know that you have received your 'Kingdom of Heaven - Director's Cut (SE/DVD)'. I understand how disappointing it could be as you have received the above item in unsatisfactory condition. I would have felt the same if I were in your place. Let me assure you we do not do business in this way and such happenings are rare."

Apparently they haven't found this thread.

At least they paid for return shipping but it will be interesting to see how this turns out considering that they've indicated that a restocking fee of $4.95 may be applied if they determine the item isn't "broken."

Well, if mine comes damaged, I may not send it back, but I'll definitely send in a complaint, and tell them it's not rare.

Not enough people go to the trouble to complain.

I've received damaged cases from DDD as well and I'm sure others have. You got lucky I think.

Just got mine. The edges of the box are a little roughed up, but I can live with it. I'll still probably send an email.

Yeah, all in all, I really had to post way too much in this topic. I won't be ordering any more DVDs that are in a cardboard case like this one is from overstock, unless the price is much better than other sites. I ordered Cannibal Holocaust awhile back from them and it was fine, but I suppose because it wasn't a cardboard case inside two pieces of cardboard.

Got my copy from Overstock today. Came in a cardboard envelope and slightly flattened but otherwise in ok shape. I'm not too crazy about the condition but it's not bad enough to make a complaint.

Not about Overstock, but mine came from Amazon looking about the same. I'm afraid if I "return" it for an exchange I'll never see another copy again.
