Yeah, but according to him, he spent over $2200 on the sale last time. I'd be astounded if he were anywhere close to having all of those watched. I only spent a couple hundred last time and thanks to more DVD purchases since then, I have a couple of titles that haven't been watched yet.

You couldnt pay me enough to go out on Black Friday near my home. The time I would spend looking for a parking spot alone is not worth the extra few dollars I would save. Factor in all the rude, pushy people, the long lines, getting up early, etc. and its a no brainer for me. In fact I try avoid the malls starting at BF and ending after Christmas.

Anyway, here is my 2nd order:

42ND STREET FOREVER V.01 $ 10.61 1 $ 10.61
42ND STREET FOREVER V.02-THE DEUCE $ 10.61 1 $ 10.61

I totally understand this sentiment.

But these posts can be useful to those that are looking to buy the same titles and who may not have realized that there were less expensive sources.

These "Hey, it's cheaper here" posts have saved me money on a number of DVDs. Sometimes the price differences are significant.

And not everyone is acting as a "self appointed expert shopper". Some forum members are simply trying to help others find good deals.

Anyway, I hope that everyone continues to post their "what I bought" lists. I get so many great ideas from these threads. Sometimes I'm reminded of great DVDs that I had forgotten about. Other times I learn of DVDs that I've never even considered before.

Nothing takes the smile off a happy buyer's face faster than being told he foolishly overspent.

I've already decided not to post itemized orders for this sale. I may put up summaries, if that's of any use. Assuming that is, I receive some confirmation of a $1000 transaction completed almost 12 hours ago.

Yeah but a few things are coming out on 11/21 that I desperately hoped to use this sale on.... How I Met Your Mother, Meet the Baron/Gold Raiders ..... as a cash strapped college kid, 20% off would be nice.......

Would be nice if the sopranos dvd sets would be marked down to $49.99 and then get the 20% discount. Will pick up season 6.1, but won't pick up the other seasons for a gift.

One question why was (longrun) thread closed and this one opened without thanking him for being the first to let us know of the sale?

I'm just about to leave for work, but I had to place a quick order...

The Seven Samurai (Criterion)
Double Indemnity SE

I've never seen either of them, but I've really wanted to. They were always a bit pricey (they still are, but at 20% off it's worth it).

Does anyone know -- if you just ordered something and then the price is lowered, will DDD give you a price adjustment?

Since I haven't seen anyone answer you yet, no DDD is not participating in that right now (unfortunately). The only BML offer DDD has right now is free shipping (which is meaningless unless the FS works on a faster method than their standard).

My first order, yesterday afternoon:
1 WBD082000 DVD : WEST WING-COMPLETE SERIES C $ 158.37 In-stock

Total for this Order: $ 158.37
I'll place 1 more order next week for a few things I was saving specifically for this sale and some Tuesday releases. I'm trying for only 2 orders this time out.

Also, wanted to mention that the Sex and the City complete collection is only $136.xx or $139.xx plus tax at Costco stores. At DDD, with the 20% off, its $172.50. Just anm FYI for any Costco members out there, as that is a pretty significant difference.

I will be picking up Quantum leap S5 and a couple other TV seasons on tuesday, but that will be it.

Thanks for mentioning QL 5. I was going to go the B&M route for that one to use the $5 coupon that came with S4, but based on the prices (or lack of) in Speedy's ad threads for next week, it'll definitely be cheaper with DDD's 20%.

For anyone who's interested, the pre-order issue with City of Men has been fixed, but now it's OOS.

I think the point is there's a difference between constructive comments (you can get that title cheaper from X-retailer right now) and generic criticism (only 1/3 of your purchases were good deals, on half of them you got robbed, etc.). In the latter case, there's no specific examples -- even on what's higher or lower -- just a vague statement which isn't helpful.

Anyway, I hope that everyone continues to post their "what I bought" lists. I get so many great ideas from these threads. Sometimes I'm reminded of great DVDs that I had forgotten about. Other times I learn of DVDs that I've never even considered before.
Same here, although it always costs me!

Nope, I don't have it yet. I will probably get it during the next sale. I had to limit myself this time.
