With several other DVDs, my copy of "Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project" arrived with 8-broken pieces of plastic inside the DVD case (and both discs severely scratched). I called DD and the customer rep sent me (by email) a return shipping label within minutes of my call. When DD receives the damaged discs, they will send out the replacement copy without additional charges. I feel satisfied with this resolution.

What's the longest you guys have ever waited to receive your shipments?

My 1st order from this sale arrived within 7 days.

My 2nd order is going on 17 days now (Shipped November 19th) Is the shipment times normally this inconsistent?

At the rate things are going, it looking more like this and my 3rd order won't be completely fulfilled until 2009.

I am in Canada and my order from November 8 hasn't arrived, not to mention my SecondSpin one from November 5. Anyone other Canadians experience long delays in their packages from the States?

Just a personal note, but DeepDiscount has been shipping better for me, in my part of the woods (Pacific NW). I've been getting titles about a week later, compared to two weeks later. I'm hoping they might have their shipping department improved a little.

Noticed that some items I almost bought in the 25% sale but didn't are now selling for just about the 25% off price. This for me worked out cool as I got them for what I would have paid but didn't after a sale that isn't.

I agree for those that got a 25% off price, that was good at the time, it is frustrating to see the regular price be lower than the 25% off price. I used to be upset by that as well. I have been able to rationalize that if the difference is less than $3 per title, my time and hastle aren't worth it.

I know they have been very busy with the sale.

My only question is.I order these films thinking that they were all from th Criterion collection.
check out my link,are they?
I'm new to these kind of movies.

The ones which say HVE are on the Home Vision Entertainment label.

From 2005:

"Image Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq: DISK), a leading independent licensee, producer and distributor of home entertainment programming in North America, today announced that it has acquired all of the outstanding capital stock of Public Media, Inc. d.b.a. Home Vision Entertainment. In connection with the acquisition, Image has also signed a long-term exclusive home video distribution agreement with The Criterion Collection expiring December 31, 2010.

Home Vision is a privately-held, Chicago-based publisher and distributor of home entertainment programming, specializing in independent and foreign films. In addition to releasing its own exclusive titles under the Home Vision Entertainment label, the company was also the co-distributor with Image of the renowned Criterion Collection. "

Well, its me again...

Well, as you know, they re-shipped my order from Nov 7th, because it never arrived. This time, they sent it with expedited shipping and it was supposed to arrive at the latest today (Dec 6th). Still nothing.

When do i decide that enough is enough?

Heh

Yeah, HV releases are what one should expect from a typical Criterion release (which has also not proven always to be the best). I own Stray Cat: Sex Hunter and Tatooed Life and a variety of other HV release and I would vouch for the quality of all of them, in that each are probably the best you're going to get released on DVD. Be happy you own them ...and enjoy!!!!

Criterion doesn't always equal the "best", but in the majority of cases they are. And I don't know of a better release from the HV or Criterion labels other than what I already own.

Do it. This is just ridiculous. They have now shipped my order two different times, the second time with express shipping and it has not arrived. How is that possible?

I've never had a problem with DD until this sale. My Wall-E still hasn't shipped even though I ordered in the wee hours of release day. Also still waiting for Batman TAS I ordered the very first day of the sale. And one title was missing from a shipment and I had to request a re-ship. This may be my last time ordering from them (after many, many, MANY orders). Very frustrating.

Yup, still waiting for my Batman Complete TAS as well. I have a sinking feeling that DD might not be able to fill the backorders for it since WB did have a limited production for it.

I ordered six sets and one single. Two sets had floaters with scratches and broken tab rings and the single a floater with bad scratches. I sent them back three weeks ago and still waiting word on when the replacements will be sent.

Generally, when ordering from DD I'm not in a hurry. Especially, since I have plenty in the queue waiting to be watched. But there is something unfullfilling about an open order.

Just received this e-mail from DD, so my fingers are crossed that I will still get the set:

Thank you for your recent order. Due to an overwhelming demand for the item(s)listed, we are temporarily out of stock. If you ordered with a credit card, you will not be charged until the item ships. We expect to receive thismerchandise and ship your order within twenty-one days. If you do not wish to wait, please contact our Customer Service department viaemail at [email protected] to cancel. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience and understanding. Best regards, DeepDiscount.com
Yeah right, like I would even briefly entertain the idea of canceling my order. Just gonna sit back and wait patiently for it to come back into stock.

Now the next question...is that typical boilerplate for out-of-stock items, or do they actually check their future ordering plans?

Well, this is the first time they bothered to pull an amazon on me, and notify me that an item I ordered has been severely delayed, so please let them know if I would like to cancel the order...so, my hope is that DD will honor orders for this set that came in during the sale.

Yeah, maybe they realized that 55 bucks was maybe too good a price to sell a set that retails for a 120 bucks. Like you, I will be waiting patiently as well as long as they can fulfill it.

Got a shipping notification today for Bottle Rocket Criterion Blu-ray. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will come with the T-shirt, but at least I got my 25% discount.

Here's hoping that I'll get T-shirts with Chungking Express and The Last Emperor.

Not looking good for Batman TAS...the item page shows No Longer Available.
~50 bucks is a good price for it, but not insanely good--it's in stock at Amazon for 75.99, and my local BJ's had two copies for 74.99, so it's not like it's retailing at 100 bucks. Still, I much prefer ~50 bucks rather than 75. I put it on my Christmas list anyway with the link to Amazon so we'll see (free, ie, gift, is even better).

I was waiting on the Batman TAS as well. Did not receive the expected in stock within 21 days email yet. But do see the no longer available on the DD website which doesn't look good. I had no clue this set was that limited.

Okay this is REALLY weird...

All of my orders came on time and what not.

but today I got an e-mail telling me an item was shipped...

the item was Chunking Express on BD.

I placed the order during the beginning of the sale but it was canceled instantly because it hadn't been released. Even in my order history there is a cancellation notice listed for the exact item.

Any idea why they're shipping this to me? They haven't even charged my credit card. I'm just hoping that is just some awesome mistake.

Didn't get the email either but I ended up ordering it from Amazon last week. If I get another copy I can always find a use for it.
