Re: Disney Bolt coupon $5 for dvd $10 for blu
Anyone have the prices at Bj's or costco? I went to TRU but they gave me a whole run around and then said they didnt have any in stock. Left disappointed. Will head to Bj's or Target tomorrow to get a copy of the blu-ray.

I saw an "on sale now" commercial (yes - all versions) during the basketball games today. ![Shrug](/images/smilies/shrug.gif)
I agree they were supposed to be released separate, but it seems like the retailers aren't paying much attention.
Walmart had a huge display of them (all versions of the DVDs also) upfront on Saturday here. Target had the DVDs out as well today.

well as I said before street dates only have merit if there is a penalty for violating them
unfortunately our big box retailers are so few and so big that cutting them off or delaying their shipment on future product is something the studios shy away from because it hurts their bottom line

Re: Disney Bolt coupon $5 for dvd $10 for blu
Here's my little story:
Basically, I've been a huge fan of Best Buy, for years. I'm not trying to brag, here, but, I figured it up, tonight, and I've spent over $5,000.00 in the past two years with them. I've been a Reward Zone member since back when you had to pay for the thing, I've got a Reward Zone Mastercard, and I always tell people to shop there. After today, I will never step foot in another Best Buy, nor will I purchase anything from them online. I went in to get the Blu-Ray. I presented my Reward Zone card, the Blu-Ray of Bolt, and the $10.00 off Blu-Ray coupon from the E-mail I received. I actually printed two of them, because I didn't think the first one printed, each with a unique code. It wouldn't scan. No problem. Sales lady was nice, said she would get the manager to come and override it, and I'd be out the door. She comes back, and says, "My manager won't accept a copy of a coupon." I explained it wasn't a copy, told her to have the manager check with Veri-Fi, and presented the other $10.00 coupon I had printed to show that they had unique numbers. She went back to talk to him, and came back saying he would not honor it. I said, "Okay, that's fine. I don't want it. I'll just go to Super Target across the street and buy it." She apologized, and told me if the had an override code, she would do it for me, no problem. I called the store, got the manager, and it was the same guy who wouldn't honor the coupon. I explained to him the situation, and how it is not a copy, as it generates the coupon from the link, and had a way they could verify the coupon. He said, "I'm sorry you're frustrated, but, I won't honor the coupon." I got his name, called corporate, and filed a complaint. I also told them they will never get another penny from me, and I will be canceling my Reward Zone account and Reward Zone Mastercard. I also informed them that I will let everyone I can tell, know about the situation. I hope it was all worth it over a $10.00 coupon.
I went over to Super Target, who was selling it for $1.00 less. The lady at the checkout said, "Oh, where did you find this? I couldn't find it." I told her it was back in the Disney section of new releases. She said, "Cool, now I can pick it up after work." I handed her the $10.00 off Coupon, it scanned, no problem, and even said -$10.00 Manufacturers Coupon on the receipt. She did not have to type anything in to get it to work. I then handed her the other coupon I had printed, since I didn't need it, and told her to enjoy! She was very appreciative, and I will now be buying my media from Super Target.
So, anyway, $16.99 plus tax, out the door. I can't wait to watch the movie! Also, tell everyone you can to avoid Best Buy like the plague. I don't know if I will ever hear anything from their corporate office, but, I could care less. In this economy, if you don't want my money, I'll be happy to give a company who does!
Edited to add: Just for a little icing on the cake, I called back to Best Buy corporate, and told them that I would be happy to fax over the receipt from Super Target, showing that it actually deducted the $10.00 off as a Manufacturers Coupon. I am sure they don't care, but, it made me feel better!

^^ Good story to share... I have had similarly horrible experiences with Best Buy in the past. I no longer enjoy shopping there at all unless there is an amazing deal to be had. I just don't even like the idea of going IN TO the store. That is how much I dislike them now due to bad experiences.

Deja vu, MadonnasManOne. I had the exact same situation with the Camp Rock/ Hannah Montana dvds a few months back and as much as I love Best Buy, it's all been ninety percent Amazon from that point on. (Although I will make a trip to Target to use this coupon).

Re: Disney Bolt coupon $5 for dvd $10 for blu
It just seems weird to me that Target is able to scan it, and use it with no problem. The thing that frustrated me the most was the fact that this manager wouldn't even come over and talk to me. He had more important things to do, apparently. Regardless, he acted as if I was a criminal, because I tried to use a valid coupon. I know I'm not the only one to have problems with a business. It's just that I always defended Best Buy to people who said they had a bad experience with them.
I have been told, on several occasions, that I really should work at Best Buy, because I always had good things to say about them. I can't help it, but, this experience has made me completely cold. I really can't see myself ever going back there.

Ugh. All they had to do was go to Boltoffer.com and verify the thing. Sorry you had terrible service. It was nice to read the salesgirl was apologetic and tried to help you out.
"A copy of a coupon." ... Have these people ever heard of online coupons? Wow.

I am surprised corporate did not make right and offer you a gift card ... someone I know had this issue at BB with the HSM3 coupon and complained to corporate and was sent a $10 gift card
I don't know if it matters to you now or not but I would follow up on your call/fax to corporate ... I would also go back to the store and get the name of the district manager and write a letter to him/her as well

I always have problems with manufacturers coupons at Best Buy. For me, they usually refuse to honor a coupon on a sale item. Even if it is a legit manufacturers coupon that was attached to the front of the DVD, they won't do it because they wont combine promotions. I called corporate about it, but I doubt they did anything...

Welcome to the dark side. I no longer step foot in Best Buy unless they have something that I would never be able to buy anywhere else, or to legally and blatantly take advantage of their giveaway offers.

Sometimes you get real stupid people at Best Buy and other times it is great. Lately they have been taking coupons without asking much at all. I think they just want people to spend money. I buy movies there all the time when I have coupons and they usually price match and allow the coupons so win win for me. If they don't I just go back when someone else is working and it almost always works then.

Was able to use the $10 off Blu-Ray coupon with no problems today at Target. The cashier looked at the coupon, read the fine print then scanned the bar code with no issues.
Didn't get a slipcase for my copy though, I'm guessing because of how Target cases their Blu-Ray discs now.

Best Buy can be a pain at times but for the most part they are willing to give me the best deal. This past week I matched an ad for an external HDD from Staples for a HDD that was 20 dollars less plus with the docking device and case (25.00 value for free). The manager at my local Best Buy did this without blinking. Also, I usually don't have a problem getting them to honor other retailers prices even Walmart's online prices (at times). i can understand one being frustrated at times with a corporation, as I am with Sony right now, but you have to take the majority of good time and throw out the bad experiences. If I were you I would just shop at other Best Buys and avoid that particular one.

Re: Disney Bolt coupon $5 for dvd $10 for blu
I got a stubborn CSR at Best Buy yesterday who refused to honor TRU's lower price on Bolt and combine it with the $10 coupon. It was one or the other, even though I told them point blank that I would simply take the receipt to a different Best Buy and get the price match. And that's what I had to do -- and ended up getting a 110% price match today. I can understand the frustration people experience at these places, and if it wasn't for RZ certificates, I wouldn't bother either.

I went to Target after not finding it at TRU yesterday. Target had none in the front! I asked about it and one employee said it should be out since she saw it yesterday. They checked the scanner and she said that it wasn't coming up for her. I thought it was hopeless until I asked another guy and he said he would help me check. He looked at his scanner and clicked on some stuff for about a minute and then he said they had some in the back. He goes into the back and comes out with the last 2 copies of the blu-ray. I bought one and used the coupon without a problem.

The $10 coupon worked for me at my local Toys R Us with no problems. Thanks again guys.
Edit: MadonnasManOne, sorry to hear about your experience at BB. Sometimes it can be a real pain, with idiot managers, even if the actual CSR is nice.
