This post will list all DVD exclusives and freebies found for the release week of 1/17/10 to 1/23/10.

This thread is for the posting and discussion of all DVD exclusives and freebies.

These lists will likely be incomplete until Wednesday or so, since DVDs are released on Tuesday and one of us needs to visit all the stores to confirm things.

Links to the master list and to the trade thread are below.

Volunteers needed: I regularly go to Best Buy and Target; but don't visit the other stores every week. If you work at or regularly go to the Wal-Mart, FYE/TWEC chains, Costco, Borders, K-mart/Sears, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster, Toys-R-Us, or any other store that has DVD exclusives; we'd appreciate any updates you could give us. I am slowly "retiring" from my weekly chain crawls, and will need your help to keep these threads useful.

I know this is a bit early...here's Michael Jackson's This Is It Best Buy Exclusives for release date January 26, 2010:

Pre-order steelbook has been already available now and free with $5 deposit (choice of DVD or Blu-ray version, both in a DVD-size steelbook). Can pre-order until January 25, 2010.

Release Day: Blu-ray has 3 Best Buy exclusives, each with its own 3D lenticular backstage pass replica (Pointing, Smooth Criminal and This Is It). See here for pictures of everything.

Oh geez...an exclusive disc at Walmart now as well as the one at Best Buy? They are really raking the MJ fans over the coals with this one, as you know the diehards will buy multiple copies for all these exclusives....

Being that the bonus disc at Best Buy is only available with the Blu-ray and the bonus disc at Walmart is only with the standard I can't help but wonder if they are the same content.

Blockbuster is advertising an exclusive for "This Is It" too. According to their ad, "Reserve you copy & get a Limited Edition Collector's Card Plus, a Blockbuster Exclusive DVD Photo Collection. While supplies last." So, it looks like they've got a bonus disc with photos on it.

I sure hope so, it would make things easier....BB gets the bonus material in HD on an exclusive bonus BD and Walmart gets it in SD on their exclusive bonus DVD...both camps satisfied, consumers happy, everyone wins!

It's still on, go to the main page, DVDempire.com, the banner is right in the middle of the page, when you order the movie it should come up on the cart. (I think).
