Go to Bing.com and register:

https://cashbackaccount.bing.com/cashback/welcome.aspx

After you register, there is a link for cashback stores and deep discount is one of a bunch.

Make sure you click on the link "Go to store" then it will take you to deep discount where you can log-in and make your purchases.

Afterward you make your purchase, you should receive your confirmation e-mail from DD and one from Bing.com. Bing's e-mail will summarize how much cashback your getting, which is 4% of the selling price.

For DD, you can use as many different codes as you like during the sale, but you can use each code only once. You cannot use any codes on pre-orders. You have to wait until DD converts titles that are released during the sale from "pre-release" to "released" status before the codes will work on them.

For DVD Planet's sale, there is only one code, 25OFFSALE. You can supposedly use it multiple times during the sale, although I havent tried it this year. Also, you can use it on pre-orders that are released during the sale period (see below). But you cannot use it on pre-orders that are released after the sale.

The owner of DVD Talk, Internet Brands, Inc., does get something each time that code is used on DD's site.

Both sales run from 7/17 - 8/2 (although it's been extended for a few days in some past sales).

Mainly being a DA, but what is the point of me seeing your list if I can't make comments or ask you a question?

The whole point of this entire forum is discussion.

Do we see someone's list, have a question/comment, and make it in a different thread, assuming that the OP will see it?

And if the lists aren't supposed to encourage discussion, then what is the point? Wheee! Look at what I ordered! But don't say anything about it!

If someone really only wants to see lists only, they are easy enough to pick out of the thread. Those people wouldn't have even read this post, but would have just scanned down to the next list.

Thanks for the alert. Keep us posted if you get a reply from them - though I've heard MB are aware of problem/defective discs and just blow off customers without issuing replacements. I've heard similar complaints about 'Flesh & Blood Show' from this same set. Guess I'll watch those two first.

Some say it's due to a faulty layer change/encoding and that certain players can handle it better than others.

Dogmatica knows that. He posted the questions in the other thread, too (and bumped his on questions in each thread). You'd think someone who's been here since 2000 would have more common sense and courtesy. Why ask questions about Bing here without checking their site first? Why ask when the sale ends without (a) reading the title of the thread you're posting in, or at the very least (b) checking the site where the sale is being held? Maybe it's just me, but I think its ridiculous behavior.

So disappointed. I haven't been able to spend $1 of my credit at DVDPlanet because their prices are so high (especially compared to DD, whose prices I havent exactly beem thrilled with this time around). I am leaning toward the Mike Hammer, Private Eye set @ $12.95 - 25%. And I am remotely considering the Wings Season 1-7 set @ $114 - 25% just to burn up my credit, but I am not sure how much I really want that set (without the final season), and I get the feeling I could get those seasons separately much cheaper down the line (only 6 sets, since seasons 1&2 are a single release).

Is there a way to see my discount PER DVD in my cart while shopping? When I do the code, it just shows my overall discount and the prices for the DVDs remain the same. I'd like to see each individual discount/change in price. Possible?

ah yesh the good ole days. however, methinks the times are a bit better as there are rival sales at b & n (50%+ off criterions) and rightstuf (10 for $50 or 25 for $100)

That's how it used to be in the past but I believe that ended when they upgraded their site. Someone can correct me if wrong.

Amazon's pricing has gotten a lot better too since they match a lot of retailers advertised price.
