Yeah ,I remember back in July some members were posting what they bought at DD and some of the DVDs could be had for $3 at Big Lots..of course some people may not live near a BL .

I recently sent an email to DD discussing MSRP based on how the new sale works. I specifically referenced a title that they have listed for $10 more then anywhere else and asked it it would be adjusted before the sale. Their reply was that they get MSRP directly from the manufacturer and aren't allowed to adjust them. Just passing along their reply.

I hear people all the time describe the percent off they got in a sale. I'm guessing that DD is trying to take advantage of this. It doesn't matter what the final price is, people want to see that bigger percent off.

Here is something interesting.

One of my goals in hoping for the standard DD 25% off sale was to get the new Farscape Complete series due out on 11/17. The list is $150 but it has generally been available for preorder from around $93 (DD) to $105 (Amazon). I was hoping during the DD sale it would go down to around $75 (50% off MSRP).

With that not happening I was figuring I would settle for getting it from DD at 40% or $90. Well I happened on Buy.com because they had a good price on Homicide the Complete series, curious to see what their price is.

Well...their price is also $90 right now but I noticed that through their market place I could purchase a brand new copy for $75. Guess who the maket place seller is? DeepDiscount. On their own site they list it for $93 but on the Buy.com site it is listed for $75. Go figure.

All I know is that in the end DD is selling it to me for $75, which is what I wanted from this years sale. It's still not Friday so maybe something is still up in the air. Maybe Buy.com posted the price early. Just seems weird.

Now Homicide and Dr. Quinn are each $75 for the complete series. Each shipping from DeepDiscount. I'm in for all three. Homicide and Farscape for me and Dr. Quinn for the family. I guess in my case the big DD sale is working out as planned after all.

I recommend people check out Buy.com right now I'm seeing some other deals of interest that are over 40% off. Some directly from Buy.com and others through their market place from resellers like DD. I knew DD sold items through Buy.com's marketplace but I never saw the prices over at Buy.com being better then DD's own site. Maybe they got too many of these A&E new releases in stock and are looking to shed stock.

Most likely. Their shipping is a bit better in pricing for Canadians, too, if you're not ordering super cheap stuff.

The 42nd Street Forever collections would come out to $11.97 each. Is this a good price? I might buy them. Which volume would be the best to purchase to make sure I dig it?

Just a heads up. DD has already amended the prices on many items to reflect the 40% off retail. But there are still some that haven't been amended yet so if you jump the gun and order to soon don't complain that some items have the incorrect price.

I am not sure everything is covered in the sale anyway so maybe they won't be amended but I will wait till the official announcement to see.

I would imagine that I'd end up spending a lot more at DVD Planet - which wouldn't take much, since there are probably just a handful of items I'll get from DD.

Farscape The Complete Series set is now $74.38 on DD's website, even though on the front page it says pre-orders are excluded. I've been wanting to see this show for forever!

Also, I had one item in my wish list that was at a higher price than what was on the item page. I had to delete it, and re-add it to my wish list to get it to show the correct price.

It appears that all the dvds for the tv show Greek have been removed from the store. They were there a couple of days ago.

It looks like DVDPlanet is doing this same promotion as well, or something. It's pretty weird, some of the prices on my wish list fell by a few bucks, some of the prices listed when you search are higher than what shows up when you click on the actual item, and so on.

Just ordered Farscape: The Complete Series and Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars for $83.35.

That's about all I really wanted but I may order something else later on.

I just tried to place my order and Deep Discount wasn't recognizing my password so I tried to do the password reset thing. The email I got said "Unfortunately, we are unable to locate an account for the email address that you entered." Double-checked and it's the same email address that all of my past order confirmations have gone to.

I don't know how long it will last, but the complete Homicide series is just $59.99 at DDD; $15 less than Buy.com. List price is supposedly $149.99 so something must be screwy - grab it before they fix it! --Peter

It's funny you say that it is no longer listed on the site and niether is Kyle XY apart from the 3rd season which is a pre-order and the sale doesn't include pre-orders.

Seems that it maybe has something to do with abc family titles?
