Fortunately I have not had any major run ins with the WB customer service. But this sort of "the customer is a crook" behavior really ticks me off. Yes, there are crooks in the world who try to rip off on-line merchants. But most of my business (DVDs and CDs) goes to a few vendors and if the "customer service" rep would simply check my order history he/she would realize that I am a damn good repeat customer with an obscene number of orders to my credit, and that we repeat buyers are the foundation of any successful business base.

Sure, anyone can have a bad day - but lousy customer service is the number one reason why a poorly managed business loses customers.

Of course, in the end we can all blame the post office or shipping service, and they all do lose stuff, or have it stolen, especially this time of year

Re: Warner Archive sales

Checked tracking again and it finally shows as being scanned in at my local post office, so I assume I'll be receiving the package today when my lazy ass mail man finally gets his ass over here. I'm sure this time of year is tough, but my mail man sometimes hasn't finished delivering the mail in my building the last few weeks until 8pm.

Re: Warner Archive sales

My little saga.

I ordered about 3 different batches of stuff during the Black Friday sales. Got everything except Volume 1 of the Gangsters set (I had ordered all 4 sets). An email confirmation indicated it was shipped, but it was not in the box with the others, even though the invoice/packing slip suggested it was.

I simultaneously emailed and called their Customer Service dept about this omission, and ended up getting somewhat conflicting replies. Ultimately they did confirm that Volume 1 was, in fact, never sent. One person told me it was OOS and simply canceled from my order; the other said an automatic re-order was placed and I would receive it "soon." My account status online suggests it really was re-ordered as of December 1st. Problem is, it appears to be in-stock at the website, so I'm grating that it hasn't gotten here or even been shipped yet. It was going to be an Xmas gift.

Postscript: I got an email from them yesterday, which I almost ignored since it had a generic-sounding subject line (along the lines of "Recent order delays")---and inside was a code for 50% off anything, plus free shipping. Probably will use the code for one of those expensive 5- or 6- movie Archive collections, maybe the Stanwyck set.

And hopefully the Gangsters set will still show up. Eventually.

Re: Warner Archive sales

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it in this thread, but WB Shop (and Warner Archive) orders are handled by the same fulfillment service as Deep Discount and DVD Planet. I think they are also handling Second Spin stuff these days.

Re: Warner Archive sales

I received all four of my Gangster sets (~$30 total for all 4) and two Blu-rays, Heat and Batman Returns (~$7 total) in four different packages with all my Black Friday orders by Dec 15th. I was pretty quick and got in on these deals pretty early.

I got the same e-mail for my missing orders. Let's see if anything actually shows up.

That subject line doesn't sound too generic to me, especially if I was waiting on an item from them. That's a pretty nice code they sent you and good to hear your item is on the way.

Re: Warner Archive sales

Just an update on mine(sort of). I ordered the Natalie Wood set on 11/29/10 and it still hasn't arrived. I finally sent an inquiry to the website asking for an update. I never got a reply but my card was charged the very next day which I hadn't realized was never done.

So, it looks like my order was lost in limbo and would have never been processed if I hadn't sent an e-mail. Still haven't received it but at least something happened.

Actually I went back and checked it---the subject line read, simply, "Shipping delays." Kinda generic IMHO. Without an order # visible, I almost missed it. Then again, I would be the first to admit that I have too much junk email to sift through, and need to read things more closely than I used to. Sucks to be 52.

Also, I got a shipping confirmation on that Gangsters set, and UPS tracking says it's due here tomorrow. So I tip my hat to WBShop for making good their promise to get it here on time for Xmas gift-giving.

That 50% off coupon code they gave me was much appreciated also, although I discovered tonight that it wouldn't work on their bundled, multi-keepcase "Value Packs" (like the Stanwyck collection). However, I was able to apply it to the Joe Doates collection, which is a single-keepcase megaset. Unfortunately it would not stack with another $5 off coupon code I had. Still, not complaining. All my Black Friday orders have come through.

BTW, cashback for WBShop is up to 10% right now at *********.

Re: Warner Archive sales

Okay, final update on my situation. The set showed up overnight from the time my card was charged after so long of waiting.

They aren't above making a mistake but it looks like they tried to make the best of the situation. Wasn't charged any extra for the faster shipping and I didn't even request/demand that it arrive by X-mas. It wasn't an issue for me.

Thanks WB. Great price on the set and made amends on the delay.

Re: Warner Archive sales

Okay, so I got sent one of those $5 off coupon codes for leaving an item in my cart but I can't get to code to work and keeps saying it is not recognized. It does not expire until the 26th.

Has anyone else had these problems with this and/or is there a solution?

Don't mean to be annoyingly obvious, but:

1) make sure you're logged into your account
2) copy and paste the coupon rather than typing it

If neither of those works, then I can't think of any other advice!

Re: Warner Archive sales

Everything came, except Watchmen on Blu, but I'm happy, although I wonder why our orders were ignored until we e-mailed WBshop.

Some of their $5 codes require a $25 minimum purchase. Can't remember if the "left in the cart" coupon is one of those.

I've even gotten one of those "item left in cart" coupons when there were no item left in my cart...

Re: Warner Archive sales

I had the Vitaphone set in my box at $44.95 (10% off). Today I saw it listed on WA at $39.96 (20%) off. Went to my cart and the $44.95 was still there.

Re: Warner Archive sales

I don't have any of the Archive titles so this seems like the time to get started. What are the must have titles?

Thanks for the code. WB usually doesn't allow codes to be used on already discounted items.
