Picked up Battlestar Galactica 4.0 and 4.5 and used a $5 rz certificate.

Also got Heroes S3 and returned it with my Nov. receipt when I bought it for $29.99 saved me $12

I was really disappointed when Target only had BSG 4.5 on sale this week, but now that Best Buy has them all on sale I'll finally bite and blind buy the first few seasons (I might even blind buy the whole series at this price).

Re: Best Buy Weekly Ad 12/27/09 - 1/2/10

So, I took some of the Gift Cards I got for X-Mas and made it a trip to BB today before I head off to work.

It's still a freaking mess from the Christmas rush. They had plenty of copies of Heroes season 3, so I picked one of those up. House Season 5 was all gone, but I managed to snag that at Target for $17.99 with another gift card I had.

I also needed to get The Office Season 5, but they are also all gone from the shelf. I managed to find one left on a cart, but the box is a little dinged up on the corners. I went ahead and picked it up anyways. I'm thinking about visiting them or another location later in the week and see if they get anymore and maybe I will do a swap. Am I being a little too anal about dinged up corners on a TV on DVD box? The discs are probably just fine, but I didn't want to take the chance of not being able to get it for this price. Worst comes to worse, I''ll still have the set.

House Season 5 is backordered online. I chose in-store pick-up, and it's already available!

I'm going to wait a few days to pick it up, tho, to see if Amazon price matches. I'll save a couple of dollars on taxes.

Yup - I'm crossing my fingers Amazon will price match on both House and The Office...

Weekly comparison tables done. Looks like Best Buy is the cheapest for Paranormal Activity blu-ray, 9 DVD and blu-ray, Jennifer's Body blu-ray, and A Perfect Getaway DVD and blu-ray.

I ordered Office:Season 5 yesterday using in-store pick-up. Showed it as in stock. Got an e-mail last night saying the store didn't have it now but I could call a toll-free # to have it shipped for free.

Actually, I think it's that high because of the small amount of copies each store will be carrying in comparison to bigger releases. They know it won't sell that well so the stores won't bother to order that many copies, and as a result they can't afford to sell it at a lower price.

I had the same experience. I'm glad I will get it for the same price in the end, but the 40 munute phone call was a bit of an inconvience. Especially since I have to visit Best Buy tonight, anyway.

Great deal on season 5- glad I waited to buy it!

Re: Best Buy Weekly Ad 12/27/09 - 1/2/10

DAMN!! I just got back from BB they were wiped out of all the good TV Shows on DVD.. No Office S5, House S5 or How I Met Your Mother S4.. I did manage to grab the last Dexter S3 and PM it with the Target ad for $17.

I'll try another BB tomorrow and maybe check Target and just PM if they have them.

Is anyone else having trouble finding those seasons?

Like I said yesterday. My local BB was cleaned out of House, The Office, even though I snagged 1 beat up copy, but they still had at least 5-6 copies of Heroes season 3.

I haven't called yet, hope I don't deal with a 40-minute call. I was hoping I could log in to my order status and just request the copy shipped, but it appears as if the call is the only way to make it happen.

Doesn't BB give out rainchecks?

I didn't think of that... I assume you go to the customer service counter and not a cashier? Or can a cashier also give out rainchecks??

I have always asked the employees who work in the Media area, and they've been able to do it for me in the past right there at the kiosks.

BB employees told me they will gave rainchecks for items specifically listed in their printed weekly salespaper (versus in-house labels for "other items in stores" selections or online prices) so you should be able to get a raincheck in this case.

One of ours was out of House, and the Office, but had all the tuesday movies out, it was cool didn't try to buy any cause I have no money. My mom bought for me the True Blood after I showed her what a good deal it would be, 54.99 sticker price got it for 13.05 after tax!

Re: Best Buy Weekly Ad 12/27/09 - 1/2/10

The Best Buy I went to was a madhouse.

I went there on at least 3 occasions during the holiday shopping season, and none of them were like yesterday, a Monday afternoon, at 2:30. Parking lot was packed, I had to park in the back of the building near the shipping bays. Crazy.

So, as you would expect, they had sold out of the TV on DVD deals, and most of the other advertised deals were gone or depleted, with the exception of The Hangover, around 75 copies of the 1 disc were available in the Comedy section.

I went home and ordered Fringe S1, House S5, Four Christmases, and a sale Yoga DVD and paid $9.xx for shipping. It was worth it to me to save the time and gas I would use on another trip that could prove fruitless.
