Re: DD 25% off sale starts Monday

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but is this coupon a one time use?

It's a shame, DeepDiscount seem to have really gone downhill.

Sadly, I think the writing is starting to appear on the wall for these smaller outfits. With the economy and a declining DVD market, you really need to have something the size of Amazon which can afford to have really good customer service. The smaller independents are, I think, cutting back on stuff like that in the face of declining profits.

Although they aren't always the cheapest, I'm sticking with Amazon from now on. Never had any issues with them.
years back DD would often beat amazon and their 20-25% off sales were actually decent but lately its not been much of a contest. I complained about this item I tried to cancel but they won't do anything for me so I'm through with them. I've been using them since like 02 or 03.

I can't get their advertised discounts to work either. Example, Disney's "The Love Bug [Special Edition]" DVD shows up with the "SAVE AN ADDITIONAL 25%: ENTER COUPON CODE 25MORE AT CHECKOUT" banner and with "Our Price: $9.91" and "WITH COUPON CODE NOW: $7.43":

http://www.deepdiscount.com/index.cf...-62876CD29EFD/

But adding to the cart and entering the 25MORE code, the price stays at $9.91. The discount is never applied. I've tried on a few different items, and even tried on different computer platforms (PC and Mac) with different browsers (IE and Safari) and even tried again after clearing cookies and histories but the advertised 25% discount never works.

Had the same issue yesterday with Brisco County for 12 and change. I tried a few times, then said i am not going to fight this hard to give someone my money.

Great job, OK terrific, DD

Re: DD 25% off sale starts Monday

I used DVDTALK for all my orders.

I made 8 orders consisting of 28 items (TV seasons, film sets, single films) with most now already in the mail. I wouldn't call the deal as good as the Black-Friday deals which amounted to 70% off in some cases. But then there were only a few of those of interest to me and many sold out quickly. However, I averaged 42% off in the DD sale which fits into the standard discount I look for any time of the year.

Expiration date.

Hi. Long time no post. Years, really. Does anyone know the expiration date for this sale? The longer I leave things in the cart, the greater the chance is that I find titles cheaper elsewhere. Thanks. Have a good 2011.

Re: DD 25% off sale starts Monday

Is there a secret to getting through to DD on the phone to cancel some old orders? I tried numerous times throughout the day yesterday and the phone line is forever busy. People said the only way to be sure an order is canceled is by calling them since emailing/canceling online doesn't seem to work sometimes.

EDIT: I called right when they opened at 8 AM, it rang this time, and I've now been on hold 25 minutes. I don't think they are ever going to pick up. So, seriously, how do you go about reaching someone to REALLY cancel your orders? I don't think they'll never ship what I want, but I'm afraid they'll ship the stuff I've had on order for months that I just picked up on BF (for about the same price) from other places. I've had the same experience in trying to add the 25MORE code.
I now think that the 25% has already been applied by DeepDiscount. When it says (in red) "with coupon code NOW: $-----" I guess they have already factored in the 25% off and the stated price is the 25%-off sale price.

I'm in the same boat. If DD ever gets around to actually shipping the order that I canceled online, I'll just refuse the package and send it back to DD. If they don't issue a refund, I'll dispute the charge.

Did they raise the price on that one? I see it at $30+ right now.

EDIT:

Nevermind, you can get it for $9/shipped on FOXConnect right now.

DD customer service never responded to my inquiry about this from yesterday, but noticed today that they instead jacked up the price of this item to $11.96 (!) and even removed the "SAVE AN ADDITIONAL 25%". That's a good way to turn away customers and a bad time of year to do it.

That looks like they DID ANSWER your email, they just did it their way!
So thanks for screwing everybody who wanted to get this movie for a great price. Your email ruined their dreams, thanks again!

Re: DD 25% off sale starts Monday

I placed 4 orders last week and still have not gotten 1 shipping notice and all were listed as being in stock. I swear no matter what the $ale I will never order from this place again! I just got dragged in again and suckered by this $ale. I know its my own fault but this place is just getting absolutely ridiculous to depend on!!! Patience is not always one of my virtues!

I was amazed to receive my order from them yesterday (3 DVDs in 2 packages). I ordered them last Monday and they shipped the day after.

Did you check the order status on the site?

I never get any shipping notices from DD but noticed that almost all have shipped under the order status. I received 5 items yesterday, of which three still said open on the site (I believe because they were marked as to be shipped by the manufacturer).

Re: DD 25% off sale starts Monday

It's odd, I ordered something, saw after the order processed that they are now charging tax, and went to immediately cancel it and couldn't. Now it's been in "processing" for more than 24 hours and I still can't cancel.

God rest the soul of poor Deep Discount Dvd... and pussy's half price for the next 15 minutes. (If you can get the code to work.)

I remember a couple months ago people were saying it was best to call them to cancel orders. Given that you chose to cancel online, am I correct assuming that you tried to call them and couldn't get through either? Since I've never done it, can you cancel individual items or just the whole order?

Anyone, what I really would like to know is this: have others been able to call DD recently and get through to a rep within 10 minutes, or are they just really busy after Black Friday week, or am I wasting my time even trying to call them? (Sort of like calling Hollywood Video was a complete waste of time in their final months... for all I know they don't have anyone answering the phones any more)

Re: DD 25% off sale starts Monday

I posted the above and then checked my email. I saw a couple emails from DD and figured it was another delay message. They actually shipped Dark Crystal and Labyrinth BDs (2 things I wanted), but guess what... they also shipped part of an order I wanted to cancel today and when I click cancel items it says that order can't be canceled. Why am I not surprised that they would ship the items I just managed to pick up cheaper over Black Friday... almost as if they knew?

And the items that say they shipped didn't even update their online order status. They still say Open. So, as far as I can tell canceling online is pretty useless. Guess I'll be returning more stuff to Amazon and paying a little more as I don't trust DD to dare return anything to them.

But will they ever ship my "really good deal" (ahem) orders? Somehow I bet they'll just ship the full price item and never the free ones.
