Man, I'm with ya! This should've been a sticky when BGA had his program running...now that it's back, it should definitely be at the top!

You need to ask a moderator. The easiest way to do that is to click on the "report bad post" button (bottom left corner) on the first post in this thread and then ask to have the thread stickied.

Or you could contact a moderator directly (the links are at the bottom of the forum page). Moderator Pilot has been posting here most frequently of late.

I would recommend someone start a new thread with the latest address of the file and make that one the sticky.

All I can say is that you guys are a bunch of dirty, rotten, SOB's. Just when I thought I was free of the CH addiction (slowly weaning myself off of BGA's last list) now you have to do this? Now it will be easy to find new titles that I want, thanks for nothing! How do you guys sleep at night anyway?

(Edit)I'm sorry, I didn't mean it.....PLEASE don't take my list away again.....I need it so bad........

CH has changed the enrollment site, and I haven't found a way around it. Until it goes back to normal, I can't get a good list of enrollment titles

That new page not only doesn't allow you to search titles, but it also doesn't allow you to get any info about the choices, for instance widescreen/pan & scan, making it difficult to know for certain what you are selecting. What a crock. We better be able to get around this, and soon!

That's why it would be great to have the data miner script pick up the ItemId # as well as the Selection #. Hopefully we could then create a URL that would add legitimate enrollment selections to your cart.

I've sent Jon last week's csv with the CH ItemID added to it. Hopefully it will be useful until I can get a new list.

just right click on any title on the enrollment page, copy the link, paste it into your address bar, then find the "itemId=xxxxxxx" part and replace the number that's there with the number of the dvd you want to add and press enter.

I tried a few titles that I didn't see on the new enrollment site, and it added them to the cart..

Hopefully, it will work and go through.

OK guys, I have something small and slightly usable up now at:
http://www.saladbarscam.com/ch
Note the www. and /ch are required, otherwise you won't get there.

It's a rough sample of what will ultimately be available. I need to do a lot more work on it. Now it's just a sortable list of all the titles (from jhester's first datamine) available only at 50 titles at a time (the 50 limit is temporary for this trial). I will update it with his second datamine soon, and work on the other data from nickelplated as well.
I welcome all comments and suggestions, positive or negative. I will announce the rest of my plans later. I'm in a rush this afternoon!!

See ya.

Oh yeah, I designed and tested this with Firefox! If something looks wacky in IE, switch browsers and let me know, OK ?

Hey, it looks good so far! Seems to work OK in IE6, but I just did some minor plunking around with it. I'm not hip on the color scheme, so I'll leave that as my only 'negative' Good work!!! Thanks!

VERY NICE! - an excllent start...

a title search feature would be huge... it did also make me realize that the datamine... missed alot of regular prices, so they're coming up 0.00 and then the sale price is the 50% off or whatever... sort by year would be great also... and yea... not so big on the color either...

how easy will it be for you to integrate new datamines?

A title search feature will be there in the future, I am not sure how soon though. I'll probably have to write it all from scratch.
You're referring to the List Price showing up as $0.00 right? I was thinking of taking that column out as it's not really very useful anyway. MSRP is very misleading, and not a good indicator of CH value IMO.
The color can be changed easily. After I layout the basic design a little more, we can have a vote on what colors to use. I really don't care, I'm not really big on aesthetics. I might even add a style switcher, so everyone can choose the scheme they like the most, but that's way on the back burner as far as importance at this point.
I can get started on sorting the year, that will be easy enough.
I am starting a new post below about integrating new datamines....thanks for your input

As far as integratating new data mines goes: here's where I stand right now.

1.) I can easily integrate any new data mine as long as it includes the selection number. Since I started the imports with jhester's mine, this was my key. If I go forward without it, all hell will break loose.
Without a selection number, it makes the whole idea more difficult to use, because it requires you still having to go to the site and find the selection number, and write it down somewhere else or whatever. This is my opinion (for people who like to enroll over the phone with the selection numbers) and my request to nickelplated to include the selection number in his datamine. Please!

2)I could scrap jhester's data, and start fresh with nickleplated's data which is nice since it includes the enrollment status.
But still his data doesn't have the selection number yet, which I find highly useful. Maybe even more useful than the enrollment status (I generally have a pretty good idea when movies came out on dvd and when they'll be available at CH, as I'm sure some of you are as well).

3) If I can get datamines that include both selection and item numbers: For the web people, I can build links directly to CH's site, for either fulfillment or enrollment. For the phone people, the selection number would be readily available. That would satisfy both types of people. Cool.

So, i guess that is my request to the miners, if they can accomodate it, the site will be much more useful. And thanks again for the new data! Without you guys, this would not be possible.

I vote #3! Everyone else?

And, I have been relaxing on vacation so I've been hands off my database for a week, and haven't added the new data. I'm going to be working on it this weekend, and have it updated with jhesters 2 new mines and start on the search function. I'm also going to open it up for browsing 1000 titles at a time and see how that behaves.

There's a dirty joke in there somewhere, but since I'm also in the middle of a vacation, I'm not going to bother figuring it out.

But I will sacrifice a few moments on the beach to reiterate my gratitude for the work you guys are doing: Thanks again!

OK, so it has been a month and no updates.
This past month I have been in a position like bga was before (work related), Figures, eh?

But in a few weeks it will all be over and I can work on this again. The only thing I have to do right now is track titles that disappear from update to update. I think all the other coding stuff is done, but I've just been testing with jhesters updates to make sure my code works right. Then all I have to do is work on the UI a little bit and it will be done. Should be by the end of August now.
My server also has been having issues lately, but I'm doing a trickle-down upgrade soon, so hopefully that will help it out a little.

So where are the new data mines? Have to make sure those will still be coming or this project won't be as useful.

Cheers
