Yep, besides all the emails I got like 3 envelopes in the mail one day, and another 3 the next day. All wanting me back, all with the lame intro of 5 @.49 plus S&H.

I'm trying to determine what's new at Columbia House since mid-April. Sorting your spreadsheat by DVD Release date seems to do that for me. Just wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything(?). THANKS for continually doing this; I'll be checking back tomorrow for an update.

The DVD Release date is only updated when a title is available for prerelease. If CH added titles since April after the DVD was release (and they have), you'll miss them. It doesn't look like Excel has an option to compare two spreadsheets, but OpenOffice does.
BTW, the data miner has died too many times this week. I'm working on changes to the perl script so that if it dies it doesn't have to start over at the beginning. I expect to finish it after work today, but there definitely won't be a new update until Friday or Saturday.

It's still running. I didn't get the changes I was going to make last week done until this morning. I also noticed that CH had some links that didn't have quotes around them, so I had to fix that before the enrollment check speedup would work. It's got at least 16000 links to process before it's done. It should be done sometime tonight, and the worse case should be that I just have to reprocess the enrollment section if I broke something.

I've finally put out a new version. I think I've fixed all the issues with it, in particular, the ability to restart, and that it was missing a bunch of links, but it also took about 36 hours to run, mainly because many of the "new" links are for cast members that have links to only one movie. I'm planning on ignoring them again in the future. The number of discs in the package are more likely to be correct now, too.

I noticed that also. Since CH has been offering video games for a month or two, I think that they're showing up as new because the changes in my data miner script now find them. If they were found because actors are doing voices for them, they may go away next week, though.

A new update is available. For some reason, CH has brought back some non SE versions of titles, like the 6th Day and Pulp Fiction, At least 30 new titles and 30 new enrollments.

A new update is out, with about 40 new titles including a music video by Avril Lavigne (with whom I share a natal anniversary), a half dozen TV series season sets, and a couple of anime titles. About 30 new titles available for enrollment.

bga,
Do you think it would be possible to take this newest spreadsheet, and an older one (before we started seeing the more expensive DVDs going away, BHD, Fight Club 2-disc, etc) and get a list of "recently unavailable for enrollment" ?
I'm no programmer, and i don't know how you generate the spreadsheet, etc but it seems like you could just take all the old available enrollments and make sure its an enrollment in the new one.
I would greatly appreciate it.

I was thinking about this the last couple of days. I can probably modify the script that generates the HTML differences to notice the unavailable for enrollment. I'll probably regenerate the weekly differences when I'm done.

D-Ball,
I know but i'm just wondering if you got them all. No offense, but some good coding is a lot more thurough than hand checking. Plus, we might be able easier figure out if there is any similarities in the DVDs they pulled.
bga,
thanks a lot!

A new update is available. I didn't do the missing enrollments, because it looked like they were all pulled the same week, and the other thread is covering them, including the former phone-only enrollments which I can't spot. This week's update includes about 30 new tiles, 20 new enrollments. The most interesting thing I noticed was a DVD starter kit, for $180 ($300 list) with the 2004 Leonard Maltin guide and 15 DVDs (The Sound of Music, Grease, Braveheart, The Green Mile, Lawrence Of Arabia, Rear Window, The Wizard of Oz, Gladiator, Forrest Gump, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Scarface, National Lampoon’s Animal House, Spider-Man, Casablanca, and Dances With Wolves).

How do you open the .csv file? I downloaded OpenOffice and tried to open it with that but all I get is gibberish.
Any chance it is because OO didn't install a Java program? It said it needed it but the option to install it was grayed out.
