I was just able to cancel on line by selecting "member deceased" - sort of morrbid but it worked - i would have been really surprised if they made you call up after you selected that reason for leaving

I have been emailing them via the contact us page using account information as the header. I just say that I have completed my membership obligation and wish to cancel my account. You will receive the standard email back, but reply to that and they should cancel it.

Not sure if this has been covered in the previous pages of this thread, but there is a way of canceling via phone buried in the "menu options" when you call the regular CH number. I discovered it while listening for something else.
You basically have to keep hitting the "for more menu options" button, until it comes up. Then you get transferred right to an operator. Not as easy as canceling on line but better than waiting on hold...

(And yes, the phone queue bypass is linked to and mentioned in the FAQ thread. While the FAQ may be somewhat out of date regarding the latest codes and deals, the general club information remains valid for the most part. That's why the thread is stickied to the top of this forum.)
While I am aware that there are other reasons why some people don't like to call CH, such as the sales pitches thejester mentions, the notion that one has to wait on hold is false. Wolf Husky solved that one years ago.

Has anyone gotten a new membership approved after using the Member Deceased reason for canceling? I died earlier today and was wondering how long I should wait to apply again :-)

I cancelled one of my accounts a few days ago via the deceased and I was wondering the same thing. Might try tomorrow.

Me neither. Naming calls, y'know ![Wink](/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Two minute phone call to cancel and followed up with the e-mail request. Of course I can still log in 48 hours later, so I'll wait till Monday before enrolling again.

I just cancelled three accounts today on the site - without being deceased. It looks like they revamped the cancellation part. If IIRC there were a bunch of options to choose. Now there are only 5 or so. So you guys should give it another try.
