A bunch of new Blu-Rays have been added. Just in time for the B1G1 with free shipping! I must say I HATE the new website for no longer being able to search by release date, but I LOVE the new feature of being able to search by recently added. Why can't they have both???!!!

Added 20 new BDs to the list in the first post.
There are about 238 Blu-ray Disc titles in the Columbia House catalog.

38?!?!? Holy crap! ...just in the last few days? ...I wish they had those when the BOGO was in effect.
Thanks for updating the list though. GREATLY APPRECIATED!

From a quick glance, it looks like all of the newly added titles were available during the recently ended BOGO. Thanks lizard.

^Yes, most, if not all, were available last week. They were added recently but didn't show up on my weekly "Upcoming Releases" scan. I had to wade through the entire Columbia House BD list and try to spot the ones I didn't already have. Since this is tedious, I rarely do it that way. There are probably some I have missed.
It occurs to me that this list may have outlived its usefulness since the entire BD list at Columbia House can be viewed on the website fairly easily. But I guess that it is still useful to have a list that includes selection numbers and release dates.

I still don't understand why CH only has 3 of the 6 Bond Blu-Rays. There is no rhyme or reason to why they carry some titles and not others. And this problem exists across all studios...

It may be that the titles they sell are a test to see if there is enough of a market to bother with carrying the others. Blu-ray Disc is probably still something of an experiment for Columbia House.
Despite their huge catalog of many thousands of titles, CH has never carried "everything" from the studios they have agreements with.
The longtime strategy, used by many of us, is to buy what we can get cheap from Columbia House and use the savings to buy the rest elsewhere. I am hoping that the recent economic weakness will lead to a resurrection of B1G1F deals on BD at places like Amazon in November and December. Falling BD player prices seem to presage such price cuts on discs. We shall see. Regardless, if CH has another B1G1F deal stacked with free shipping, it will make for decent prices for the BDs that they do sell.
Even then, I can only justify purchasing the lesser priced catalog titles, as opposed to high-priced new releases. One thing I learned from nine years of observing DVD pricing is that disc prices will drop sharply in a year or two if one is willing to be patient. Meanwhile, there is always Netflix...

A quick heads-up, Death Proof and Planet Terror are now up on the site with a release date of December 16. For some reason, Planet Terror($26.21) is more expensive than Death Proof($21.71).

Also interesting that the Clone Wars Blu-ray is there too, since none of the Star Wars dvds have ever been available through Columbia House.
