Need some TV buying advice...
I want to step into 32" country, and it isn't worth it unless I get component and S-video inputs.
I don't think I care about flat screens or PIP. I don't even care about the speakers (externals for that). I know I love Toshiba and Sony.
Since there are so many flat screens everywhere I go, I assume that deals can be found on last year's curved screens. Does anyone have a favorite place to go for a DEAL on one of these models? Or is it as simple as going to local electronics stores to scope out the clearance section?
Thanks.
Erik

There are many older models of curved and flat screen '32 TVs that can be had for under $600. I would check your local Fry's, Cosco, Sams club, Sears, etc.
Majority of these TVs come with at least an S-video connection. I saw flat screen '32 Sonys selling for as little as 600 at Fry’s.
If i were you i would stick with Toshiba, Panasonic and Mitsubishi. Sharp TV's are not bad either... they have few options(other then s-video) but that does not seem to really matter to you. They can be had for $350-450. In fact a friend of mine just bought a 27 flat screen made by Sylvania (i think) for 300 from frys. Although this TV comes with VERY few options(beside s-video) the picture was surprisingly good for a cheap TV. Its great for a bedroom.
If you have the option and can afford it, i would spend a little more on a flat screen. It really does make a difference in viewing. If you compare a curved and flat screen TV sitting next to each other, the viewing area of the flat screen "looks" cleaner and larger.....(or maybe its just my hitting the crack pipe a few minutes before) J/K

Check out the line of JVC's also. I think you will find they have a better picture than the Toshiba's and they are very highly rated by Consumers Report. They have s-video, componenent, and can do the anamorphic squeeze, although you have to acess it from the service menu and it's a real pain to set up. Priced around the same as the Toshiba, much les then the Sony's
