Best 37" LCD HD TV, sub $1000?

Hi guys,
I've recently seen a slew of 37" LCD TVs for around the $1000 level, all "no name" brands, but based on everyone that I've read, excellent quality.

I am wondering which is the best? Syntax Olevia? If so, what're the differences between the 3 different 37" models they have? Vizio? Sceptre?

My budget is around $1000 and I desperately need a TV. A 37 incher seems like the largest/best I can get for my budget. Thank you.

You might want to ask a mod to move this to the HD area, where you'll get a better response. This area is largely for computer-type stuff.

If you have a Costco membership you can buy one and try it out. They have a very good and liberal return policy. My friend bought a Vizio from Costco and loved it, but when Costco had a sale on the 42" he upgraded.

Helped my friend get a Philips refurbished 37" LCD flat panel TV with HD tuner (forgot the model #) from Overstock. $880 WITH shipping. We used a new customer discount of 12% plus free shipping. This was about a month ago. You should check in on Overstock though. I believe they still have the 12% discount going though I think they're out of the 37" Philips. But they might have others. BTW, the refurbished model arrived with just a few small scratches on the rear end of the stand, but the TV itself worked perfectly. No dead pixels.

I have the 37" Vizio and it's great. Bought it from Costco so I would have the lifetime warranty.

Ok, let me clarify:

I know a lot of budget 37" LCD TVs are "good," more specifically, I want to know how they compare to EACH OTHER. So, I appreciate good deals on certain TVs and opinions on one TV, i'm wondering if anyone could tell me or point me to the direction, of how say a Syntax Olevia 37" HVS LCD TV compares to a Vizio 37 or an Astar 37, or the cheaper 37" Sharp. There are a suprising lack of comparison reviews online. Thanks!
