Any news on a DVD release for "Hype!"?

Not sure if anybody remembers, but this was a decent documentary look at the Seattle music scence which hit video in 1998. Has there been any word on if/when this could make it's way to DVD? I assume it could be a rights issue along with so many artists being featured throughout the film. Appreciate any info. Thanks!

I thought "Hype!" was a sketch comedy show on the WB.

At least, that's how I remember it.

Much better than just "decent" if you ask me. I thought this was a wonderful doc, very informative on a misunderstood and unfairly maligned musical movement that I happened to love and that broke out when music needed it the most. The interviews are terrific and insightful, the performances are great, some very candid, it reiterates the very stupidity of the word "grunge" in general and it sheds light on several great bands that never did make it big and were completely overlooked. I would LOVE to see this as a DVD release someday.

Glad to see there's a few other folks that remember this one.

I thoroughly enjoyed the documentary when I saw it in the theatre back in the 90s. I'd definitely buy it on DVD--the muzak version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is hilarious!

I seriously recommed another one of Doug Pray's documentaries, entitled "Scratch" if you have not seen it already
