Wait, did you actually put a DVD in the toilet?

Looks like it's shrinkwrapped, probably no harm done...

That's a good use of money: buying three copies of the same version of the movie, and putting one in the toilet?

Meanwhile, I couldn't get one because of school and work.

Thanks for the info about the 3rd disc for Death Trance. Got the Complete one with cool lithographs/postcards and foldout poster for their other TOKYO SHOCK DVDs.

So you're a fan of every single film/show you own in Steelbook form?

So, Xage..
Where did you end up getting your copy after all? I was going to get mine at Best Buy, but heard they didn't seem to have the third disc. I thought to try FYE, but I want to make sure before opening it. So where do I get such a cool exclusive like yours?..Thanks

I've seen people post, "Well, I hated that movie, but I bought the Steelbook and I'll never open it." Personally, I think that people that buy movies that they don't like just to own them (whether Steelbook or not) are complete idiots.

So the same applies to people that collect stamps and never mail them? Or collect coins and never spend them? Etc etc etc?

FYI: The Best Buy in West Covina, CA has 4 copies of the Hancock Steelbook left.

And before this becomes a huge Thread war - My question was purely out of curiosity. Wasn't trying to throw down or anything.

I've seen people use the stamp and coin collector argument before and I think it is severely flawed. If you mail a stamp it is completely ruined and you lose possession of it; also, sometimes they manufacture stamps specifically for the purpose of not being used. Same thing with coins. If you have a rare Penny with two heads and spend it...you no longer have the rare coin. I get what you are saying, but these two examples always irk me because of the very nature of the products.

With DVDs if you open it, you still own it and it isn't completely ruined. A better example I can think of is people that collect toys and don't take them out of the package. You can still enjoy it by looking at it sealed, but if it is opened you still have it and it isn't completely ruined.

That being said, I don't agree with what the guy said. If people want to spend their money collecting DVDs because they come in a specific package or for whatever reason, I don't think it makes them dumb. It is a hobby and at the end of the day if people get more pleasure out of a sealed movie than an opened one, then good for them. Me personally, I have multiple copies of several movies and they are all opened; I like to see the artwork and be able to watch different versions if I want. To each his own.

I had read that Best Buy had the I am Legend single DVD on sale for $6.99. I had also read that the 2 disc I am Legend was also $6.99...Well I got to thinking, I wonder what the I am Legend Steelbook would ring up? Maybe I could get them to price match. I went to a best buy that I knew had a few of the IAL steelbook editions (they had 1 left),took it to the counter and was getting ready for my pricematch pitch and boom....it rang up $6.99. Cool....so cool I tried it later in the day at another Best buy .....Took it to the counter...rang up $6.99! Great! The two best buys I went to both only had 1 IAL steelbook left mixed in among the regular 2 discers, I could not believe one survived this long at two different Best Buys. Although, I do see some Steelbook titles at several best buys left over...mostly Die Hards, Bourne ultimatum and some X-men 1.5, I was glad to find I am Legend especially for a great price! One for a gift and one for me! I usually get the movies I really want in steely on release day (or even Pre-order) to make sure I get one, but sometimes the best price comes to those who wait! Especially on the older releases before I started picking up the Steelbooks.

Nice deal. One Best Buy around me still has a couple of I Am Legends. Another one has about 20 copies of Live Free or Die Hard, and quite a few have The Bourne Ultimatum. It's always so funny when we rush out to get these limited editions on the release day and then see them just lounging around eight months later.

new around these parts, but been a lurker for almost a year now. starting to focus more on blu ray steelbooks.

a buddy of mine and myself went to FYE tonight to try and reserve Dark Knight Blu Ray Steelbook, but they told us they were not getting a blu ray steel, just a regular edition. so is there no steelbook for blu ray in the U.S.?

appriciate the help, and the guy who posted the cabinet pix, i bow to your greatness.

No, there is not going to be a Blu-ray steelbook available in the US.

She's wearing the jacket that she is seen wearing in the movie.

Maybe she is, maybe she isn't. But in the movie it wore like a jacket, in that pic it
Spoiler:
billows out behind her like a CAPE
If you look at that pic and that's what you see, then you're spoiled and looking at the picture is all it takes.

If you look at that pic and see a jacket, then you aren't spoiled and other people saying the cover is a spoiler can't change that ... 'cause all you see is a woman is a jacket.

So the fact that what she is actually wearing looks like something else, while the main guy, who we know has powers, is wearing regular street clothes is a "spoiler"? Come on. I saw the cover before I saw the movie, and the only spoiler I saw was several people on here posting about it.

Did anyone of you read the description on the back? It "spoils" it even more than the front art. Appears to me Sony don't consider it a spoiler...

I might have mentioned this before, but I'm pretty sure that Sony decided to make it less of a "surprise" twist, and make it more part of the story. The fact is, the "twist" was not well-recieved by most people, who considered it a real erratic change in the story's direction. "Spoiling" it makes it part of the actual story, and will probably help people to "get" (understand) the movie on DVD.
