Re: The Official Blu-Ray Slipcover thread

Thakns!! now I am pissed cuz I got the Shazaam sans cover!! I will have to buy it again, keep the cover and return the case.

I ended up getting the Macgruber dvd instead of the BR, cuz it was $11 vs $30 and doesnt seem like a movie that require any HD.

yes we know, though its not that appropriate to direct people off this forum. We should make a list here that trumps that one.

Re: The Official Blu-Ray Slipcover thread

So take the information provided at that forum (Copy & Paste) and update it for this one. When I started the DVD Slipcover Thread, I had to pull information from multiple places before getting around to full updates (by visiting Best Buy, Circuit City, Target and Wal-Mart EVERY Tuesday).

Man, I wish I had that kind of time again.

Re: The Official Blu-Ray Slipcover thread

FYI - There are two versions of Superman/Shazam. A regular Blu-Ray edition and a 2-Disc "Special" edition which includes a digital copy.

The 2-Disc digital copy comes with the slipcover. The single Blu-Ray does not.

takes the fun out of the whole project to cut and paste....besides, I had some issues with that list. and I'm sticking to US releases since I cannot possibly vouch for Euro or Asian releases.

so where did you get it?????

WalMart didnt even carry it in BR, just DVD. Target had one single copy of the single disc edition, while Best Buy had an entire display, but only the single version.

Re: The Official Blu-Ray Slipcover thread

I saw the version with slipcover at Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. At least a dozen copies at each store.

You can easily sort what you want and don't want from their list. It's easier to use the work that's already been done there for older titles that no longer have slipcovers instead of wandering up and down the aisles of BB making guesses on what originally had slips or not. Use their list as reference, not gospel.

I agree about not including Euro & Asian releases. I did the same thing in the DVD Slipcover Thread. US only (and sometimes Canada).

As for Superman/Shazam, I got mine from Amazon sans slipcover which is why I started investigating. I've never seen the slipcover in person.

so how the heck did you get the pic of the sc????

That is exactly why I wont paste that other list - some covers are no longer available! last thing I want is to send someone on a wild goose chase, which is what befalls me all the time.

Does that mean that you will be removing titles from list when they no longer press slipcovers?

no I wont, or probably not. but I wont add films that we know no longer have an sc.

i want the list to be somewhat relevant for people searching for covers, such as myself.

/\ It seems to me, though, that people often ask whether a title ever came with a slipcover at any point in it's release, regardless of whether it is still easily found at that time.

this is perplexing. other than in this thread, nobody here is aware of a 2-disc version with a cover.

In fact, there isnt even one available on Amazon!

He said you either got a European exclusive or you photoshopped that pic lol. he says the single disc non-sc edition is the only one in BR here in the States.

am I going insane or what?

That guy's a liar. Plenty of people have seen it in store. It's Warner though. Only their first run of all their titles has a slipcover, and in this case, it looks like the first run was very small. It most definitely DOES exist though.

And I wouldn't listen to a guy from Barnes & Noble anyway. Their store policy is generally to throw away all slipcovers before putting the Blu-rays or DVDs on the shelf (with a few exceptions). Even the new "Avatar" release was missing them at my local B&N on Tuesday.
