I found a copy of this last week at K-Mart for $5...excellent deal.

I remember when I first got my player and started buying DVDs, I would always go to the this one store that had a very eclectic selection. This is where I started getting into Criterions.

Anyway, I would always see this movie Salo there, but I had never seen or knew much about it. But there were so few Criterions out at the time and I like all that were out at the time so I was always curious about it.

So, the store was running a sale and I thought, "If that one movie that I always wondered about is there, I'll go ahead and pick it up." Needless to say, it wasn't there.

Fast forward a year or so later and I start getting more into looking up DVD news and info on the Web and discover that not only is Salo OOP, but it is hugely expensive.

I have since seen the movie, and while I can't say that I really liked it, each time I see it selling on eBay for hundreds of dollars I kind of bite my lip a little because I never bought it.

There were some Cities 97 Samplers(CDs) that I saw used for anywhere from 15 to 20 but I thought they were too high. Now they go for 30 to 150 on ebay. In fact my sister tried to pick up the current sampler and they sold out in the Twin Cities in 1 hour. Now there are hundreds of auctions for it all selling at $40. Just pisses me off.

Other that I've never come across the kind of DVDs you guys are talking about. Found a Flash Gordon for $5 before it went OOP. Oh...I found Toy Story 1&2 for $10 the other day.

Mine would be the ULTIMATE TOY BOX. It was only $20 on release day at Best Buy and I didn't have a DVD player at the time. Oh well... $50 on ebay later... Oh well...

I forgot about another one: Tool-Salival.
It is a collection of the band's videos. Another one that I always said I would get and then when I decided to buy it I realized that it had gone OOP.

It was that punk rocker movie with Jon Cryer and Flea (from Red Hot Chili Peppers) with sort of a cowboy theme to it.

I bought the VHS version of this the day it came out and ended up getting my first DVD player that Christmas. Luckily I found the DVD version still available. It seems like it went out of print very quickly.
