just got back from my DVD runs...

my regular Wal-Mart did not have the Happy Feet bonus disc, just the Happy Feel "exclusive" bundle with some other movie, forgot what

so went to my "back-up" Wal-Mart... got it there.

then Target:
grabbed the 3-disc Deluxe edition of Pursuit of Happyness (wow, i paid $10 extra for a slipcover and a bonus disc... im a whore)...
Happy Feet lenticular deluxe edition with bonus disc? about 30 Full Screens, Zero Widescreens.

Circuit City dint have anything i wanted; grabbed Turistas w/bonus disc at Best Buy.... probably not worth $20, but i watched the movie last night and it was all right (i'd give it a C) and i enjoyed it overall.. im a sucker for films like that.

then my back-up Target: this time probably 50 Full Screen Happy Feet... Zero Widescreens.... not available on Target's website either.... anyone see or know if a Widescreen Deluxe edition even exists??

Legally Blonde Platinum Collection - contains a bonus sneek peek DVD of Beauty Shop starring Queen Latifah.

I just watched this. It's slightly over 5 mins long and is your standard "behind the scenes" type promo material.

Also didn't have any luck finding the WS deluxe version at Target. The Walmart bonus disc--what's on it? It seems to be a "game sampler" of some sort, according to the website.

No Widescreen version at my Target either (Eureka, CA).
As a Widescreen supporter since, well, forever, I'm wondering (and have been since, well, forever) if it isn't about time studios stopped releasing Fullscreen versions of Widescreen movies. And the answer is "probably not", considering that the Fullscreen standard edition of Happy Feet was sold out at the Eureka Target while the Widescreen wasn't.
However, they had a ton of copies left of the so-called "Deluxe Edition" and I believe that the problem is that the "Deluxe Edition" is more for collectors (people like those who visit this thread on an almost daily basis and are ready to drive more than a few miles to get the best possible DVD edition of a movie, which they might not even care about) who, by nature, are probably not Fullscreen proponents.

i am one of those collectors/whores, but like you and many others, i draw the line at Full Screen... i was wondering the exact same thing today on my way back (isn't it time for them to stop releasing FS?)... but as long as the ppl who don't care about the difference keep buying them, i don't think it's gonna happen any time soon

Thanks!

I've noticed lately in my area stores that people seem to be buying more widescreen, but maybe that is wishful thinking.

And this is like the third time Target has pulled this crap with deluxe editions being crapscreen only. Makes no sense to me. Seems obvious that most "collectors" would want widescreen.

Heh, I live in Crescent City and was in Eureka Tuesday. I go there all the time for stuff. Almost stopped at Target to get some DS games, but the fiancee wanted to come back home. I wondered how long it would take to see someone here who lived close by.

I'm pretty sure Over the Hedge was one of them. Maybe Spongebob or Cars the other?

What exactly is on the target bonus discs for pursuit of happyness? I really liked the movie, but I really want to know if its worth the extra ten dollars compared to the 13.99 one at CC. How long are the bonus features and are they honestly worth it? if there are any exclusive deleted scenes or anything like that...i'm there.
Being a college student in their last semester money is tight this week. I just bought myself my own 35mm film slr camera with three lenses...so that's exciting. So if anyone could respond before tomorrow night..that'd be ideal
This way I can make my decision and go out and buy the movies after work, before the sale prices end.
-Thanks guys

dvdmrp, I don't know what's on the discs other than what is seen on the target web site, but here's a tip.

You could always buy it tomorrow while it is still on sale, and then just keep it sealed until you make up your mind. You have 90 days to return it at Target.

The Target bonus discs are:
Disc 1: A 27 minutes "behind-the-scenes" look at the movie with various interviews of cast and crew (Jouney into the American Dream).
Disc 2: MP3 CD of "The Pursuit of Happyness" book read by Andre Blake (duration: approx. 5 hours and 32 minutes).
I have yet to watch / listen to either, so I can't really tell you if it's worth it.

just got back from the mall. Hot topic has a free preview for GRINDOHOUSE when you buy anything in the store. Comes in white paper envelope. weird because it appears to have a menu but it just plays straight through. when you push menu it has only one place to hit enter. whole thing only runs 10 minutes or so.

has the long trailer for the movie

grindhouse 101 featurette

charachters of groundhouse (which the title card for the feature reads girl of grindhouse)
