What was the first DVD you ever bought and do you still have it?

I'm pretty sure that the first DVD I ever bought was the Memento 2-Disc Limited Edition in 2002. Yes, I still own it and watch it.
The weird thing for me is that before DVD, I never bought movies at all really. I had a handful of VHS tapes, but I in no way "collected" VHS. I bought a DVD, and then BAM, I had to have a lot of em for some reason. Were any of you like that also?
I didn't really love film as I do now until Memento though, right around that time, so it shouldn't shock me too much I guess.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" were my first two DVDs back in (I believe) 2002. My taste has changed significantly since then, but I still own and enjoy those two movies.

It was the first Austin Powers film, and yes I still own my battered 'snapper case' copy It was purchased in 1999 because I really liked the movie and had a HUGE crush on Seth Green (I think I was about 15) so I was excited that I could just skip to the scenes with him. At the time I only had a DVD-Rom, not an actual DVD player yet.

Evil Dead - Elite
bought in late 2000 before I had a player to play it. Rented a player and had to hook it up through my vcr....good thing it didn't have macrovison.
Still have it.

My first DVDs were Batman, Blade Runner, and The Road Warrior, bought close to when I got my first player in 1997.
I've since sold Batman and Blade Runner to upgrade to newer versions. I still have The Road Warrior, but not for much longer since I'll be upgrading to the Blu-ray in May.

I bought The Goonies on the release date and I didn't get a DVD player until a month later.
I still have it since they haven't bothered to try to get me to double dip.

I don't remember exactly. I bought five dvd's when I bought my first panasonic player way way back...I do remember two of them were the original dvd of bladerunner and the old fullscreen babe. Babe has since been replaced by the widescreen version when it finally came out although I still have the old dvd as well. Waiting to replace bladerunner with the big SE later this year.

First for me was Ghostbusters. Still have it, despite getting the two-pack they put out. Will keep it, for the complete set of extras, and for sentimental reasons. Second was Small Soldiers. Coincidentally though, I still have every DVD I bought except 1 (roughly 450+).
