It pulls itself together by the end of the season. The season finale is brilliant.

I did forget to mention that girl married to Lou I think (the truck driver with long hair) is fucking hot. She still looks great 10 years later when interviewed in the bonus features.

And, just so you won't be unnecessarily shocked (in the "dismayed" sense)... the second season ender is also one helluva cliffhanger.

I purchased Season 1 waaaaaaaaay long ago when it was first released and was bummed when the 'Pilot' was not included. I then decided not to watch it (never seeing it myself, heard many good things) and instead ebayed it for more then twice at what I purchased it from. I am very much looking forward to this boxset version IF it includes the pilot.

Never bought any of the other versions. Will definitely get this one. What's the date again?

tvshowsondvd.com has posted an update about this upcoming set: Artwork to be changed and bonus content rumours are incorrect.

So they released artwork that is going to be changed, and content that is going to be changed. Why release any of this info in the first place if it's all wrong?

The artwork was never officially released, and the info at Dugpa was simply wrong. No telling why it was wrong, it just was. As for the artwork, I got ahold of it from a trusted source, and apparently it either was concept art that wasn't approved yet or else it was approved but then they heard how badly everyone hated and decided to change it.

To get people talking about a show that is already finished on DVD.

Ummm, I think if you trace the history, the studio never officially released anything at all.

Edit: Referring to an *official announcement* on the extras, coverart, or release date.

Paramount owns the rights currently, right? So season two they put out wasn't an official release? Please explain.

I am sure the real reason is they want to make money on their investment, but they also want to raise some buzz about a complete collection of a show that's already been completed on DVD. I guess I don't understand your statement in response to that....the show's been finished on DVD, regardless of which studio put out what.

I think he means that they haven't officially announced the set's release, or officially released any information on it.

If anyone is going to Comic-Con, there is going to be a 'DVD Sneak Peak 2007' discussion with Bill Hunt and Todd Doogan of The Digital Bits.
They are going to be talking about 'Twin Peaks: The Complete Series' and showing some exclusive footage.

(scroll down)

I myself will more than likely get this boxset.
I taped all of the episodes on VHS, but my brother has since absconded with them and they are who-knows-where-now.

That would be interesting, but can't they offer the pilot seperately??? I want to keep my original Season 1 set.

I'll never part with my Artisan S1. I seriously doubt Paramount is going to include DTS on the new S1 set. They need to just release the pilot on it's own, with some matching packaging, and make fans happy. Fans meaning me.

I agree...the pilot episode really needs it's own release.

If Paramount has a rep who follows the posts here (I know they did in the past at least) then let them be on notice!

The pilot definitely needs its own release, I already have both seasons. But I would love to upgrade my "unofficial" pilot episode.

I don't know if its posted but at the Digital Bits panel in San Diego
we got confirmation of the following (besides the sick 5 disc Blade Runner set!)
that TP box set contains the following for sure
DELETED SCENES
BOTH PILOTS
LOG LADY INTROS
and an amazing roundtable discussion with David Lynch Kyle Mc, Madchen A. the clip was outstanding
start unloading those old versions this box is sick
