I really hope they haven't missed a beat. What an unlikely comeback for this show that never should have gone away in the first place!

I'm hoping that if anything, the time off has given the producers some time to think up some GOOD ideas for the 4 movies/12 episodes, lol...

I bet the Simpsons movie dvd gets the same release date as this. I also bet that this Futurama movie will be way better than the Simpsons movie.

I'm on this one. I still need to complete my Futurama series collection, but I think it was one of the funiest animated shows that shouldn't have gone away. I'd take this being resurrected over Family Guy anyday.

I want a direct to Blu-Ray version. According to THIS article it's coming from a hi-def master, so it's not out of the realm of possibility, although with FOX, who knows?

Per Comic Con discussion of The Simpsons on Saturday, July 28, 2007...

All new episodes of Futrama are being produced in widescreen.

Unfortunately, there are no plans to create The Simpsons in a widescreen format.

I feel pretty sure that we'll get one since they did one for every episode of the show (including a 2nd commentary for "Roswell that Ends Well").

Yeah same here. It's also my b-day.

Out of curiosity, what resolution was the show? Would it benefit from an HD upgrade?

The Futurama panel at SDCC was amazing with the voice actors doing a table reading of a comic and the discussion of this four movie deal was pretty insightful. So I guess we'll be seeing this on Comedy Central in four episode cuts like the family guy made for dvd film and then see this in dvd glory. good stuff.

What resolution are they composing in? I guess you'd have to ask them that, but as to whether it would benefit from a HD upgrade, in the link I posted earlier Matt Groening himself said they were mastering it in HD, so yes, HD would work just fine here.

Yahoo! Double the price for half the episodes!!!

Volume 3 had 22 episodes for an MSRP of $50. What's the MRSP going to be for these 12 episodes? 4 * $20?
