Thank you for the production info and the fact they brought back original voices of Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly and Clancy Brown.
Makes it eaier to decide to buy it as soon as it hits the shelves.

Can anyone confirm what "exclusives" will be on the Target edition of the movie?
I have been really digging the exclusives Target has been giving for these flicks, the bonus episodes are a nice treat.

I don't know yet for a fact what they are, but judging by their past exclusives for the other WB animated films, chances are it will just be the couple more episodes of JL that the Blu-ray has that the non-exclusive DVD doesn't....

I watched this right after watching the Green Lantern movie that just came out. Compared to that, this sucked. Lots of fluff for the story and dialogue.
Things didn't make sense, like the president of the USA is going to be arrested by a local police department. I mean really, if any president committed some sort of criminal act, he'd be out of office long before any investigation completes let alone him immediately getting put in the back of a police van. Minor thing but still, even a being like Superman seems more realistic than that.
The action was pretty much bland.
I'd say a rental at most.
The only good thing I can say is that at least it was pretty short. A little over an hour.

> Reborn"
>
> Superman/Batman: Public Enemies -
> Digital Copy Special Edition Blu-ray
> - Justice League Unlimited "Question
> Authority"
> - Justice League Unlimited "Flashpoint"
> - Justice League Unlimited "Panic in the Sky"
> - Justice League Unlimited "Divided We Fall"
> - Superman: The Animated Series "Knight Time"
> - Superman: The Animated Series "The Demon

> (Exclusive Target Two-Disc Special Edition DVD)
> - Justice League "Injustice For All, Parts 1 &
> 2"
> - Superman: The Animated Series "Knight Time"
> - Superman: The Animated Series "The Demon

My Target 2-disc I picked up today only had Knight Time and Demon Reborn (no Injustice for All). Someone else on World's Finest found this too. Anybody else find this? Can anyone else confirm what the non-Target 2-disc has?

Got this and watched it, good, clean superhero fun. There was a bit in the first 2 minutes that made my wife laugh like the Joker on nitrous oxide.

Question:
Went to Target yesterday and saw the 2-disc version selling for $15.99
Noticed the display tag mentioned a Target exclusive bonus disc. However, I sifted through 10 copies and did not find a single one with a sticker that mentioned a bonus disc. Did anyone find one? Does it have a sticker on it?

I actually enjoyed this release quite a bit. They made some pretty major changes to the graphic novel but I felt most of them were for the better, some storywise (such as Luthor framing Superman for the death of Metallo instead of the meteor coming to Earth) and most based on how long the running time was.

Re: Superman/Batman : Public Enemies ----> 9/29/09
Then, just this past week, as my Target began to restock its quantities of the 2 disc edition, I noticed a sticker on the cover, in proximity to Batman's left hand. The sticker read "ONLY AT [TARGET SYMBOL] / EXCLUSIVE BONUS DISC INCLUDES / TWO EPISODES FROM THE "JUSTICE LEAGUE" ANIMATED TV SERIES / INJUSTICE FOR ALL PART 1 / INJUSTICE FOR ALL PART 2." The sticker measures roughly 2 1/2" wide by 1 1/2" high and is white with top and bottom target signature red borders.
Luckily, I saved my receipt and explained to customer service that I did not get the "special edition" as advertised weeks ago. They accepted the exchange. Sure enough, the JL episodes are included on this exclusive package, but not as a third or extra disc. Instead, the second disc is augmented. Under "Bruce Timm's Top Picks" from the standard 2 disc edtion appears "Target Exclusive Episodes."
Is the physical disc any different? I forget what I had, but can tell you the Target Exclusive second disc has a clear metallic background behind a standing, brooding Batman at left and a flying superman at right. No other distinguishing marks or text. Nothing to indicate exclusivity with Target.
My best guess? Target screwed up in the initial distribution for the initial 9/29/09 release. "Regular" 2 disc copies preceded the "exclusive" 2 disc copies. Only after exhausting initial stock did the new stock appear.
End result: look for the red and white sticker; if it's on the cardboard sleeve, then it's got the extra JL episodes on the second disc. No sticker= no exclusive content on the second disc.
Oh, and my brief review of PUBLIC ENEMIES is this: if you've read the Loeb / McGuinness 6 issue "World's Finest" run from 2003, PUBLIC ENEMIES is a faithful adaptation with art and even some dialogue an uncanny match of the printed page. The conclusion of the film, however, is a major deviation from the book. Does this new ending, however, make contextual sense? Sure. I prefer the comic's ending, personally, but purists should realize that different mediums demand different strategies in storytelling, and the filmmakers, needing to streamline an already jam-packed plot, made some choices that result in a film that may not delve too deeply into what makes characters (even minor players) tick, but is still a real blast to watch.
So buy it. At Target. The JL episodes are related in a (dare I say) parallel earth sort of way. You get an equally maniacal Luthor and a whole new cast of super-villains (including the Joker [voice acted perfectly, as always, by Mark Hamill]). I can see why Bruce Timm chose the other two Superman episodes (for their Batmn tie-ins), but these JL episodes are better companions to PUBLIC ENEMIES.
Just look for that sticker, though.
And good luck to those who bought it upon release, got the not-so-special version, and attempt an even exchange, like me. Let me know here if you succeed; Target should know that there are fans out there who won't just accept a mistake like this and blindly plunk down money without asking questions regarding claims of exclusivity.
