Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
The Elimination Chamber DVD has three extras, Jericho interview, Edge picking Jericho the next night, and the video package of HBK/Taker build up with the cool "Running Up That Hill" song replaced by a generic one. Not much but at least it's more than the usual on a PPV disc.
As for the debate on what might happen with HBK/Taker, I think the answer is obvious. They'll close the show and the match will end when they fall through a hole in the ring and both are never seen again. That's how all PPV's will end from now on, LOL.

I realise Austin believes it was a mistake and WWE near as damnit act like WM17 never happened (just look at how tragically rare X-Seven is ever shown in highlight clips or mentioned at all), but for me that "shock" was what pushed an superb event to an unforgettable event.
Maybe it's just me but I think the Austin heel turn made for some great TV. He might not have got instant heat in Texas but he certainly did soon after, didn't he? Not to mention it gave a whole new dimension to Stone Cold as far as entertainment/comedy/acting in my opinion.
Whether they regret doing that angle or not, that doesn't explain why the whole event is never talked of on TV around Mania time. It's the event many regard as the best ever! I just don't understand it![Head Scratch](/images/smilies/headscratch.gif)

Anyyyyyyhow, this will be the first year I will not be ordering the Wrestlemania PPV in a long time. It's gotten too expensive and outside of Money in the Bank & Shawn v Undertaker II (and maybe Jericho vs Edge), I'm not that interested. I will however buy it on dvd or blu-ray when it comes out. About 5, 6 months ago; I happened to pick up XXIV on Blu-ray, and wow....did it ever look good.

I'd wish all TNA shows end that way.

Kickass cover. That'd be even more awesome if it was foil-embossed, limited edition anyone?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
On Silvervision, they have preorders up for Wrestlemania, and something cool i noticed was for the Blu-ray version there is a 3rd bonus disc which includes the RAW and Smackdown before the ppv (like with Royal Rumble).
I think this might be one feature they will include for Blu-ray ppvs now. Pretty cool.

Speaking of blu rays, I think the Best of Smackdown vs Raw bonus title that was released is underrated (or just unknown) because it contains pretty good matches from Raws, SDs and PPVs in their entirety (entrances too) and all in superb quality. The matches are mostly the build up and aftermath of Mania 24, also one match is from Mania 24 itself. I guess this is extra special to me because I attended that particular Wrestlemania and remember the build up well.
Also on there is a little doc about how they make SDvRAW the game which if I recall was also a good watch. Even if the series in my opinion has gone down hill. I'd say for anybody who doesn't have the Blu ray to seek it out, likely cheap too. It's not just a crappy bonus, it's a good repeat watch now and again.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
I actually did go to Walmart today after hearing about that sale, and they had half of which was listed in an earlier post. I picked up Cyber Sunday 2006, New Years Revolution 2007, Royal Rumble 2007 and Backlash 2007 for $20
I did see December 2 Dismember 2006, No Mercy 2006, Survivor Series 2006, Legacy of AWA, Judgment Day 2008, Judgment Day 2007 and Vengeance 2007 there too though.
I miss the days of seeing a WWE dvd sale at Walmart and seeing dvds of Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Greatest Stars of the 80's, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley and others marked down to like $10 each.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
My local Half Price Books had both Survivor Series sets for $29.99 each. Took advantage of the 50% off coupons for today only and got them both for $30 plus tax. Discs have minor scratches because of the packaging but should play fine after I clean them.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
I really wish that Walmart sale would happen in the US. The only wrestling DVD I ever see in the $5 bin is Shawn Michaels: Boyhood Dream. The closest FYE to me is closing, so hopefully I'll be able to pick up some cheap discs. I'm probably 5 years behind on PPVs.

In order to spare any other Torontonians the hassle, there's nothing at 401/Islington, Runnymede/St. Clair, Dufferin Mall or Lawrence/Keele.

Well for me it was a city called Chatham. They still have them there too cause I picked up Judgment Day 2008 and The Legacy of the AWA dvds for $5 each yesterday.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
To those here that own them, are the Bestbuy ultimate fan editions worth picking up for collection purposes?
Think I will definitely make sure to get the Shawn Michaels one given the opportunity. Not sure about the Rey/Cena ones though.
