Whew. 62 disc. Cant wait to see how much this will cost...

And no Blu-Ray set. Early seasons would require the FX redone like TNG:

The 90-minute retrospective and Superboy pilot are selling me, but I'm kind of anxious to see what the price may be.

Wow, surprised Warner isn't waiting a year for this. Maybe they figure there will be no interest by then.

I'd be interested in finding out the price, but I have some seasons on DVD, one on HD DVD, and the rest on Blu so I probably won't downgrade. Plus I'm not a fan of awkward packaging.

I bet the discs come scratched like every other huge multi-disc collection.

Re: Smallville: The Complete Series

Ehhh. There would have to be a lot more on that set than what I have seen listed to get me to double dip on these seasons.

Re: Smallville: The Complete Series

Why couldn't they do a set with some of the seasons on BD and some on DVD? I would be more interested in that.

Yesterday.

My question on the pricing is, are they going to set it out for what you can get the individual sets for OR what Best Buy charges for them.

$224.99 on Amazon for pre-order. I gave my seasons 1-8 to my oldest daughter and will wait for the inevitable price drop and buy the boxed set-

Re: Smallville: The Complete Series

If there was a Complete Blu-ray Set coming I'd gladly double dip! As it is though, I'll just buy the 10th season when it is on sale below 20 bucks and be done with it. Love the show, but not willing to re-buy 9 seasons that I already own on dvd just for the few extras.
When I saw the UK blu-ray set of Supernatural Seasons 1-5 I gladly upgraded and will do the same for Smallville IF it ever gets the upgrade.

Re: Smallville: The Complete Series

It looks like the discs are going to sit inside cardboard sleeves - like the awful Simpsons sets or, even worse, like the big Wild, WIld West one. The box design for Smallville looks awfuly like the one we're getting here in the UK for the Complete Avengers.

All very well but these card sleeves make it a pain to access the disc you want and have a tendancy to scuff 'em up as well.

Why can't we have more like the UNCLE one - great outer case, with standard sets inside on trays that are easy to use and don't wreck the discs?

$300+ is a bit steep if they're going to go cheap on the packaging.

My biggest complaint about full series sets is the packaging. I don't know why studios can't release stuff like UNCLE or Miami Vice. If you are going to charge $300 for something, at least put them in slimcases.

Re: Smallville: The Complete Series

I have seasons 1-9 already and will pick up season 10 when it's under $20 and call it a day. No need for an overpriced complete series set.

All episodes, besides S10, are all available ($2.99 per episode) on iTunes in HD.

Also, right now iTunes is giving away the premiere episode of S1-S9 for free... and get this.. in HD.. if they can be provided to iTunes.... WB should be able to provide them in Blu.. you'd think...

Re: Smallville: The Complete Series

I was mistaken.. even S10 is available at $2.99 per episode.. and the premiere episode is free...

btw.. when I clicked on more info about the HD versions on iTunes.. it states their HD is 720p.. and with the specs... what your computer must have to view in HD.. and only via AppleTV on your TV can you view it there..

Looks like Aquaman/Mercy Reef pilot will be included as a bonus feature with this set.

Re: Smallville: The Complete Series

I figured Warner would put out a complete set so got rid of my seasons 1-5 that I had brought several years ago. The real shame is not getting a blu-ray release. That is where my dissappoint lies espiecially since Warner seems to be good at promoting Blu tv releases and with their dvd/HD to blu sites. I will get it but would have preferred a Blu release.
