Hello,

I have been looking into getting The Complete Toxic Avenger Box Set (the 7-Disc set) and have a few questions for any people here who happen to own the set. Now, I had heard that the copy of Toxic Avenger 2 included in the set was not the Unrated release and this got quite a few fans angry. Fair enough, I contacted Troma recently to ask them what the deal was with that and they told me it was a mistake that was corrected after the first run of the sets had been distributed.

What I'm wondering here is if anybody has picked up a copy of this set relatively recently and has the Unrated copy of Toxic Avenger 2 included in it?
Also, does anybodies set include the non-anamorphic widescreen DVD release of the first Toxic Avenger? Or is everybodies the initial (open matte/full screen) DVD?

I have heard some conflicting info about that from Troma and the users on forums so I'm just wondering. I would appreciate knowing when it was you got the set just so I can get a rough outline of how long this "first run" of sets was being distributed.

Thanks for any info that anyone can give me!! Even if you don't fall under the categories above I am still interested in hearing from you, even if it only shows that very few people have the "corrected" version of the set.

My copy has the open-matte/fullscreen version of the first movie.

The first film is the original released version with the full screen version of the movie.

MY set has the RATED version of part 2. I heard a while back they were re-releasing it with the unrated version, but I never heard if they did or not.

I don't believe they ever corrected this, but i may be wrong.

it wasn't that long ago when I looked into the different sets and from talking to someone from troma the only set to get the unrated versions was through the TOX BOX that doesn't include citizen toxie, but the toxic crusaders series.

I just bought that and got citizen toxie for cheap.

It's some episodes of the Toxic Crusaders series, not the entire thing. I have the Tox Box and will never get rid of it since it doesn't look like Troma is competent enough to put out a perfect set of the series.

ah gotcha I never actually watched the disc...i remember the show only being a few episodes long and just figured they threw the whole series on there

To be clear, the Tox Box includes Toxic Crusaders Volume 1 which is just four episodes, but The Complete Toxic Avenger includes that and a second disc with the other nine episodes.

Actually, from what I hear, the Tox Box includes the Toxic Crusaders Movie, which is an edited down movie version of some of the early episodes.

I should note that when I heard about the Complete Toxie having the edited version, I bought a double pack of Part 2 and Troma's Tainted Vampire Triple Feature (or whatever it was called) online because I heard (on the official Troma boards, IIRC) that it had the uncut version. Then, when I finally got my copy of the Complete Toxie later that year, I was amazed to find out it had the uncut version of the movie.

Funny, I kinda want a copy of the edited version of Part 2 on DVD since it has a different commentary by Lloyd than the uncut version (apparently on the commentary for the edited version, Lloyd realizes that the filmed is edited about halfway through). I'm also interested in the Toxic Crusaders interactive comic book gallery or whatever on the Toxic Crusaders Movie DVD.

Oops, you're right, I guess the Toxic Crusaders volume 1 was just released on its own

I know I'm reviving an old thread here, but I just ordered the Complete Toxic Avenger boxed set straight from TROMA. I've never seen these films before. I hope it's indeed the unrated cut. Any way to tell for sure which one I get before watching through the whole film?
