I was JUST about to ask that.

We've been asking for many years now. Perhaps this is the year!

Yeah, my optimism didn't work with the Cubs either.

I'm obviously in favor of this.

They'd have to count. The movies themselves may not count, but since everything counts as one, and the host segments are most definitely holiday-themed, they'd count.

Regarding the MST3K Turkey Day Marathon. If it means anything, last year when I asked about New Years Bowl games, the answer was, since they were tied to a holiday, they counted, fwiw.

And doesn't the New Year Twilight Zone marathon count? Seems the same.

I'd be up for starting on the 20th. I'm planning on watching quite a bit this year if I can...

No it does not. As for the MST3K episodes, IF the host segments from the actual show are holiday related then they would count. The Twilight Zone New Years marathon wouldn't count, that doesn't make sense. If the Rod Serling portions of the episodes were holiday related then it would make sense, but since they aren't they don't count.

Had fun with this last year, even though I didn't get many in. I'll be back for sure. Great links provided.

I love this challenge (which is why I started it) and this year I have a new job that is 8-5, so I don't think I'll have as much time, but I am able to watch Netflix while I'm working so maybe I'll get a bunch more in.

After much consideration I have decided that finally I will extend the challenge to begin on Saturday November 21, 2015 at midnight. I originally did not want to do this but I know everyone has been asking for it. So from now on the challenge will begin the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Actually, I can pretty much guarantee you're going to change the first date every year.

I dont know if we ever had this discussion before, but would the Robin Williams movie Toys be considered a Christmas movie? I think the whole movie was over the course of a year, but I alaway have thought of it as a christmas movie, because of its beginning and ending.

Don't things count as 'Christmassy' on flimsier bases than key moments like the beginning and end..? Based on your point (never seen it), I imagine it would count.

What's the policy on watching a movie more than once?

Every year I end up watching a few movies 3-4 times each. Especially with the 24-hour Christmas Story marathon.

So do you count each time you watch it? Or do you only list the first viewing?

From last year's rules: "A film can only be viewed once, UNLESS you watch it and then watched it again with a commentary"

I think most of the challenges have the same thought: It only counts if you watch a different "version" of it. With the commentary, a riff, etc...

I always count Toys. It's a very Christmassy film to me.

I finally got it on dvd after not seeing it in years. I know Toys isn't a christmas movie but it always felt like it was set around Christmas time. Just wondering if anyone else watched it for the challenge.
