Chad, I wasn't pointing my post at you; obviously, you know what's going on. There just seemed to be several posters who seemed to be staking their claims for a list spot. I didn't want them to think that they made the first page of the list thread...when this isn't the list thread.

I know; just confirming what you were saying. Just meant I think their confusion was due to me reserving a couple of posts. :)

Oops been so scatterbrained as a result of big life changes occurring at present that I didn’t realize it wasn’t the official list thread, so just deleted my list post to get rid of clutter :)

My main problem now is figuring out how to get the text editor in Firefox to stop constantly graying out.

I'm a bit confused by that...

Yes, if you try to edit the mess you have now with that editor it'll be even worse... I should have been more clear.

BUT - if you go back to last year or before you can edit those, copy/paste them, and they'll look, or should look, like what you want. One big issue is the very first time you create the post you have this tiny little box that's horrible to work with. The trick is create the post *then* edit it and you'll get back the screen width box that expands downward. If you do not get that then reload the page just before you edit and it should come up that way. It's a bit of a pain but will get the functionality of the old editor back.

I use FF all the time and don't see a "greyed out" editor so... I also use the editor I suggested - 100% of the time. You *do* lose the ability to directly copy/paste an image but the better functionality is worth it to me.

Thanks, I'll give it a go when I get some free time. I have already tried tinkering with some of the previous challenges by going back to the 'original post' in the post edit history as well as trying what I saved pre-January 2019 in a Notepad file (using the aforementioned editor) and they all resulted in the same mess as this year's.

This is what all the previous challenges looked like after the update (2017 challenge, I "fixed" last year's):

The worst starts at 'prize determination'. The banner shrinking was courtesy of Photobucket.

Speaking of updates, here's the 2018 YouTube comps that were just added to the first post:

<iframe width="350" height="200" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/UU2YOTA5DRY" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="350" height="200" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VyVFBd9L1Pk" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Apologies for not having them up when the thread went up. Dealing with the forum nonsense has resulted in not updating everything.

Let me know if anyone else has one.

Apparently they're celebrating the release of the upcoming Godzilla Criterion set because he's this year's "Monster of the Month".

The Godzilla schedule:

I'll have the full schedule up on the first post eventually.

I've yet to figure out just what the update did that was good... Had I not been around for a loooong time it could easily have driven me away.

Cool! I can finally scratch off Ebirah,Gigan and Hedorah off my list when it comes to Big G movies. It's also nice seeing Suspiria to the lineup.

This might be my worst year for the challenge. Job change coming. Schedule change coming. School training coming. As for each and every year, I'll do the best that I can. But this month of October may be my worst for movie viewing.

If you've got at least one spare hour a day, you should be able to manage one movie a day. They're just going to be older movies. Someone ought to make a list of horror movies that are 60-70 minutes long, if it hasn't already been done.

Same but for different reasons. I had two health scares earlier this year with sleep deprivation likely being a factor. Gone are the days of late-night watching for me. I may also ditch my usual "Drive-In" totals that I've been doing for over 5 years as well. Not only could that help out for a more relaxed marathon for me, but there's also the possible problem that the new updated format here will likely be a hassle to bring more dimension to my listing. I found that out during the last Exploitation challenge (Which I barely crossed the finish line for, btw) I will keep track of stats for my Annual Awards post though!

I'm usually super busy at work in October, then a lot of running around at the end of the month prepping for Halloween.

That's why I start my pre-challenge in September. Those viewings don't count for anything, but at least on Oct 31, I don't feel like I haven't watched anything horror-related this season.

Good luck, that sounds like a bummer. Hopefully you can check in some and use whatever participation you can as refreshment/escape.

This is the end of an era. Understandable decision, but it must be stated those drive-in totals were the stuff of legend. I wonder how many dead bodies, breasts, dead parrots, movie-within-a-movies, false alarms, nightmare sequences, wild opera house dances, etc etc it'd been over the years.

One reason I want to start a pre challenge is to help me relax. I’ve been stressing out with various things going on in my life. This Challenge is one of my favorite ones, and I don’t plan to do much if anything in the Criterion Challenge. I’m hoping thinking about Halloween will help calm me down.

Ran into these while doing themes. Not exactly an extensive list at 38 titles between the two, but might be of some help:

Best 60-69 Minute Movies

Best 70-79 Minute Movies
