I have a Letterboxd account too, but rarely use it. I don’t even really what my login information is.

Re: 2nd? Annual Early Bird Horror Watch Roulette

I finally watched Ghostwatch today! I realized as I turned it on that I actually HAD seen it before, like 10-15 yrs ago. A previous-friend of mine had it on DVD, probably a boot. I liked it a little more this time around. Got me in a good mood for the challenge to begin!!

I thought I had seen The Green Inferno.

I'm sorry if this is old news to others. I haven't been using Letterboxd for very long.
haha. This is great. I follow some of you on Letterboxd, but happy to follow more. I’m on there as jensenholmes.

I’ve been on the site for a few years but just recently upgraded to a paid plan. It was the stats screen functionality that got me. But I haven’t had time to play with it much.

Re: 2nd? Annual Early Bird Horror Watch Roulette

I watched my pick Evil Bong today. I agree with Jholmes that it was a stinker, but Tommy Chong's appearance in it bumped my rating up to 2 out of 10. Even then I expect it will be the worst movie I watch this challenge so everything is up from here! Thanks again for running this IBJoel!

Re: 2nd? Annual Early Bird Horror Watch Roulette

I finally watched The Void today. It started off interesting enough but then I kinda felt it was gonna change and get weird and get away from the kind of horror movie I normally like, and it did. The deaths were messy and interesting enough though.

I can’t recall, does this viewing count towards our challenge numbers or is it just more for “practice”?

However you want to slice it. I think most people view it as a "bonus", but I don't participate in the challenge, since I actually find it incredibly confusing with the sublists and everything

You do not have to use any of that - just watch horror films. I stopped using the subsets/checklists/etc. a few years back as I found I was purchasing films I didn't like *solely* to complete those. Wasn't worth it. I now just watch the horror movies I want to watch and have lots more fun and less stress in the month.

Yeah, what I do is just post my first-time watches in the thread at the end of October

Re: 2nd? Annual Early Bird Horror Watch Roulette

I'm on Lettrboxd as Darkgod. im pretty sure I am following most on here, but If I am not, just follow me and I'll follow back... on to my film.

The Last Broadcast

First, I love that the film has a backdrop of the Jersey Devil. Growing up here, its always been a story that is close to my heart.. The found footage feels closer to something like Hell House then Blair Witch... and it works. It's not scary by any means, and even feels a little closer to an id discovery show then a straight horror film... but I didn't hate it.

5/10

Undeadcow on Letterboxd
I just joined Letterboxd, thanks to this accursed thread, and logged in last two years - I'll comb through and link to others on there soon.

Dammit. Are you guys gonna make me go back and try to use Letterboxd again?

I am under Spiderbite.

Now I will comb through my IMDB and past ratings here and maybe catch myself up one day. I have over 1600 rated films on there and I know I miss doing some all the time.

FYI: You can transfer your ratings from IMDb to Letterboxd. I would've never started using it if I couldn't bring over all the info I had on icheckmovies (no way would I have tried to mark 10K+ movies as watched again).

Migrating from IMDb

^You are the fucking man, Dimension! Had I known that, I would have likely been using Letterboxd since I originally signed on.

I wonder if they have a way to import ratings from IMDb? I’d rather not reinvent the wheel, but I’d be cool to join you all.
